I usually take a couple qualifying matchups on thursday or friday then will have some odds to win picks on saturday night or sunday morning and an occasional driver matchup but not many throughout the season unless I latch onto some patterns.
Last year I picked 15 race winners out of 36 races all paying 4-1 or better. Biggest score was in a Busch race when I got a driver to win out of the field pool at 20-1.
