Sunday CBB Betting Report: Purdue, VCU & Villanova solid vs. spread

Let's take a look at some of Sunday's top teams against the spread in college basketball.
VCU at Saint Louis, 4:00PM ET
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Rams are now a 9.5-point road favorite versus the Billikens for today's matchup at Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis. VCU is 10-5 overall and a solid 7-3 against the spread in lined games this season, while SLU is just 6-8 overall and 2-8 at the betting window. While the home team is 5-1 against the spread in the last six meetings between these two teams, the favorite is 6-2 ATS in the last eight meetings.
Purdue at Illinois, 6:00PM ET
The Boilermakers will be a 9-point favorite over the Fighting Illini for today's Big Ten matchup after Purdue opened as a 9.5-point favorite. The Boilermakers are a solid 9-3 against the spread this season, covering both of their lined games on the road. They're also 5-2 against the spread in their last seven road games versus the Illini while the road team is 11-5 ATS in the last 16 meetings overall. Illinois is just 1-5-3 against the number in its last nine home games.
Villanova at Butler, 7:30PM ET
The Wildcats have rolled to a 13-2 start this season and are a profitable 8-5 against the spread, while the Bulldogs are 12-3 straight up but just 7-8 at the betting window. Villanova is -4.5 for tonight's contest after opening as a 4-point favorite. Butler is just 5-14 against the spread in its last 19 games played on Sunday and is winless at 0-4 at the betting window in its last four games versus Big East opponents.
