Dr Bob

2 Star Selection
**Buffalo (-4 1/2) over BALL STATE

Buffalo barely failed to cover for me on Thursday, winning b 9 points as a 9 ½ point favorite, but the Bulls are still 35-13-1 ATS as a favorite of less than 13 points against losing teams. Ball State, meanwhile, is only 2-12 ATS at home against teams with a win percentage of greater than .400 when not getting at least 15 points and the Cardnals are 1-10 ATS as a home dog of more than 2 points under coach Billy Taylor. In addition to the team trends, Buffalo applies to a 66-17-2 ATS subset of a 112-49-3 ATS momentum situation while Ball State applies to a negative 55-124-2 ATS situation. My ratings favor Buffalo by 5 points and I’ll take Buffalo in a 2-Star Best Bet at -5 points or less and for 3-Stars at -4 or less.

2 Star Selection
**Akron (-10 1/2) over NORTHERN ILLINOIS

Akron has played 4 road games this season against bad teams and the Zips have won those games against NC Greensboro, Youngstown State, Toledo, and Eastern Michigan by an average margin of 20.5 points. The average rating of those 4 teams is slightly better than my rating for Northern Illinois and I expect the Zips to beat up on another bad team today. Akron has a history of being a bully, as the Zips are 38-10 ATS against losing teams when not favored by 17 points or more in 5 seasons under coach Keith Dambrot, including 13-1 ATS recently. In addition to that team trend, Northern Illinois applies to a negative 56-115-3 ATS momentum situation that is based on their long losing streak. My ratings favor the Zips by 12 ½ points and I’ll take Akron in a 2-Star Best Bet at -12 points or less and for 3-Stars at -10 or less.
