DR BOB

Sunday NBA Opinions

NEW ORLEANS (-4) over Dallas
These teams just met in Dallas on Friday night with the Mavericks coming out on top 100-92, but the Hornets are likely to get their revenge today in the fight for the #6 seed in the Western Conference (both teams are 48-31 heading into this game). New Orleans applies to a solid 229-129-6 ATS home revenge situation in addition to an 80-41-1 ATS final week angle, but my ratings only favor the Hornets by 2 ½ points with Dallas fully healthy now. I’ll still lean with New Orleans at -4 or less, but I’d only play the Hornets in a 2-Star Best Bet at -3 or less.

CLEVELAND (-8) over Boston
Boston is just 8-14 ATS in 22 games without Kevin Garnett and Cleveland is once again the best team in the league with top defender Ben Wallace back from injury. The Cavs are especially good at home, where they are 25-14 ATS and have won an incredible 29 of their 39 games by 9 points or more, including a 98-83 win over a healthy Celtics squad in early January. My ratings favor the Cavaliers by 10 points at home against a Garnett-less Boston team and Cleveland is still vying for home court in the NBA finals should they meet the Lakers. I’ll lean with Cleveland at -8 or less and I’d take the Cavs in a 2-Star Best Bet at -7 points or less.
