LA Lakers at ORLANDO

Another comp play winner on Saturday, as underdog Minnesota blanked Chicago. Now 8-2 the last 10 days for free, and 45-31-4 the last 80 days with our comp plays.

NBA tonight, and we will go with the Lakers and Magic to once again stay UNDER the posted total.

Through 4 games in this series, these teams have combined to go UNDER the total 3 times. That includes a pair of games that have gone overtime!

Dating back to the regular season, these teams have stayed LOW in 4 of their last 5 clashes, and we like this one to stay LOW as well.

Los Angeles is on an 11-3 UNDER clip their last 14 postseason games, and they have played UNDER in 8 of their last 9 versus the Eastern Conference.

Finally, the Lakers have gone 13-3-1 UNDER the posted price their last 17 Sunday games.

Expect the UNDER trend to hold true to form once again in Game Five of the NBA Finals this Sunday evening.

Play the LOW.

For Sunday take the Mets against their in-state rivals.

If I can get Johan Santana at this price against the slumping AJ Burnett than I am all for it! Throw out every other factor in the world and this still cannot be construed as a bad play.

Sure the Yankees are the healthier team of the two and probably right now the more talented team of the two with Arod and Teixeira leading the way but anytime you can get arguably thee single best pitcher on the planet and not have to lay anything then it is a total no-brainer.

I'm not saying that Burnett does not have great stuff and a huge upside but after the first few impressive starts to the season the guy has been mediocre at the very very best and that is being kind.

Santana has been brilliant all season long and if not for his defense destroying him a few times earlier in the season he would already have double digit wins. Even without Reyes and Delgado I can' t help but back Santana today as he still has studs in Wright and Beltran along with other quality players like Sheffield and Church that can wreak some major havoc for sure.

If Burnett matches Santana tonight, which he can do, then so be it. But Johan at this price is just too good to not take a stab on!

Take the Rays minus the Run Line as they blast the Nationals.

Going for the sweep I like Tampa Bay in today all thanks to the fact that the Nationals suck. Washington losers now of 25 of their last 31 games are in no position to beat the Rays today. Not when the National have only 16 total wins on the year and now turn to Detwiler who is winless on the year in five starts.

Meanwhile, for the Rays with last night’s win they are doing what is expected and that is to beat the worst team in the league. Thanks to Shields who is 2-1 with a sub 3 ERA in his last three starts I fully expect climbed for a blowout here.

All Tampa Bay at home today.

Today's Selection:

The Astros take care of business and we come through with a solid Comp Play winner.

We’re coming at it again as we’re taking the Mets over the Yankees in the rubber game of this series.

The Mets come into this game sitting at 1-1 so far in this series over the Yanks, but could easily be looking at the 3-game sweep if not for Luis Castillo’s glove in Game 1 of this series.

After giving away Game 1, losing 9-8, the Mets came back with a solid 6-2 win Saturday. Including that win, the Mets are now 5-3 their last 8 against the Yankees.

For the Yanks, things have been tough lately as they’ve won just 1 of their last 5 games overall.

Keep in mind, too, the Mets have been extremely strong with today’s scheduled starter Johan Santana on the mound. The Mets have won 4 of his last 5 starts overall and have won 2 of his last 3 on the road.

Santana will be strong again as the Mets pick up another win with him on the mound. Pencil in Santana as your starting pitcher and take the Mets on the road in this one.

MINNESOTA TWINS / CHICAGO CUBS
Take MINNESOTA TWINS

Believe it or not, the Twins are now a mind boggling 46-13 in their last 59 Interleague games, including a perfect 5-0 this season. I know how tough Ted Lilly has been for the Cubs, especially at Wrigley. But Scott Baker is getting pretty sharp for the Twins. I can't resist taking a real nice price here, particularly with the Cubs losing four straight coming in. Minnesota is the choice.

Los Angeles Lakers at Orlando Magic
Prediction: Over

An overtime game in the playoffs has been usually followed by another OVER. Indeed, the NBA teams 31-0 OU in the playoffs when they are off an overtime game, as long as the total is at least 190.

Drew Gordon

Minnesota at CHI. CUBS -135

Now on a 14-4 roll with the plays I'm giving away, including the Rockies over the Mariners 5-3 Saturday! For today's complimentary play, we're looking at the Minnesota/Chi. Cubs match-up.

Looking for the Cubs to stop the bleeding Sunday afternoon, as they face a depleted Twins club, with one hell of a strong edge on the mound. Its no secret Chicago has lost 4 straight, including 2 in a row to the Twins, but a match up against a road-weary Scott Baker is just what the doctor ordered.

I know full well the Twins' Baker pitched a nice game at McAfee Coliseum in his last start, allowing 3 runs on 4 hits over 8 innings Tuesday. However, one good start doesn't erase all the garbage I've seen from Baker on the road thus far this season, going 1-3 with a 6.56 ERA. Buyer beware, Baker has been anything but consistent, and that'll hold true this afternoon at Wrigley.

Herein lies the other problem for Baker, as he'll have very little room for error against the red-hot Ted Lilly, who's 2-0 with a miniscule 0.87 ERA over his L3 starts! That includes a real solid effort at the Astros Tuesday, tossing 6 2/3 scoreless innings, allowing just 3 hits! Also, he's also been a beast at Wrigley, going 4-1 with a 1.29 ERA! Its no surprise the last Cubs win came with Lilly on the mound, and look for him to step up once again today.

Finally, the injuries to Cuddyer and Span have this Twins club in a tough spot, and that was apparent Saturday, collecting just 5 hits, albeit in a winning effort. Beating a blistering hot Lilly, sans two of their outfielders is going to be easier said than done this afternoon. In the end, this is the spot where the Cubs stop the bleeding, plain and simple.

Take the Chicago Cubs behind Lilly over Minnesota and Baker in this MLB match up.

VEGAS EXPERTS

Minnesota Twins at Chicago Cubs

Minnesota is a very good team in interleague plays + the aformentioned Cubs are really struggling now, but we cannot believe that the home team will get swept here. The Twins are just 13-30 on the road vs. lefties since the start of the '08 season, including a 2-10 mark this year. They average just 4.5 runs per game vs. southpaws and prior to the start of this series were just 8-20 on the road. Minnesota is also 7-15 in day games this season.

Play on: Chicago Cubs

Baltimore and Braves Under 9 for 3 units

The Pitching matchup today is Bradley Bergesen (3-2 4.04 ERA) vs Derrick Lowe (7-3 3.44 ERA). Both of these pitchers today are on big Under runs both being 0-3 to the Under there last 3 games at an with an average of just under 7 runs per game in that stretch. This is a great spot for an Under today with Baltimore always stuggling on Day games being 1-8 SU this year ATS so I would recommend taking the Braves as well but both pitchers have been pitching so well I think the Under has the better value today. Atlanta is on a 7-3 to the Under run and Baltimore is 5-4-1 there last 10.

Under is 4-1-1 in Orioles last 6 home games.
Under is 4-1-1 in Orioles last 6 overall.
Under is 8-1-1 in Orioles last 10 games with the total set at 9.0-10.5.
Under is 5-0 in Lowes last 5 starts overall.
Under is 5-0 in Braves last 5 interleague road games vs. a right-handed starter.
Under is 4-0 in Braves last 4 games as a favorite

1 Unit on St. Louis Cardinals -105

After bouncing back with a win in Game 2 of this series, I give the edge to St. Louis to win the series tonight. Last year's AL Cy Young Award winner, Cliff Lee, is just 3-6 on the season and only 1-4 at home. The team has not given him any run support. In fact, Lee is only 1-8 against the money line when playing against a team with a winning record this season with the Indians scoring only 2.8 runs per game in these starts. Lee is also just 1-7 against the money line when the money line is -100 to -150 this season. Carpenter has been sensational for St. Louis at 4-0 with an ERA of 1.23. The Cardinals are 78-31 in Carpenters last 109 starts, 40-12 in his last 52 starts following a Quality Start in his last appearance, and 15-4 in his last 19 starts during game 3 of a series. The Indians are 2-8 in their last 10 games as a home favorite of -110 to -150. Take the Cards.

Minnesota Twins vs. Chicago Cubs
Play: Chicago Cubs

Chicago's Ted Lilly has pitched lights out at home this season going 4-1, with a 1.29 ERA. The Twins Scott Baker is just 1-3, with a 6.56 ERA on the road. Look for the Cubs to avoid the sweep today.

John Ryan

Oakland Athletics vs. San Francisco Giants
Play: Oakland

Ai Simulator 3* graded play on the Oakland A’s as they face SF slated to start at 4:05 EST. Supporting this graded play is a strong system that has posted a 31-14 mark making 22.9 units since 2003. Play on all AL dogs with a money line of +100 to +150 with a team on base percentage .320 or worse on the season facing an opponent starting a pitcher who walked 5 or more hitters last outing. SF is a very weak 1-10 (-10.2 Units) against the money line in home games versus an AL team with a team batting average of .255 or worse over the last 3 seasons. Take Oakland.
