Duke at St. Johns
Pick: Duke -12

St.John's just doesn't have enough weapons to go at a Duke team that's intent on not having a letdown, having seen the room for error as far as a high seed goes diminish with recent subpar performances. Look for the Blue Devils to frustrate the Johnnies with their relentless defense, hitting enough threes to keep SJU at an arm's length in what will ultimately be a comfortable victory.

San Antonio at Detroit
Play: Over 180.5

After a tough win at MSG on Tuesday night, the Spurs look to continue their good fortune on their current road trip by extending the Pistons' misery. The trade deadline should come and go without the Pistons moving one of their major pieces, so even though that pressure is off, it's hard to imagine a team so flawed being able to come out and take the Spurs. Like the road team and the over here, as this one winds up 96-91 or thereabouts.

Boston at Utah
Play: Boston -2

The Jazz are not an elite team this season. The Celtics are. The Celtics are more than eager to prove that they, not the Lakers, are the team to beat again this season.

To prove that they must beat good teams on the road. This is an important road swing for the Celtics. So far so good with impressive road wins at New Orleans and Dallas.

Boston is playing well again, winning 15 of its last 17. The Celtics have covered 12 of their past 17. They have won nine consecutive road outings.

Boston beat the Jazz in December in Boston by nine points. The Celtics won both meetings last year, dealing Utah just one of its four home losses. Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen have lost a lot of games to Jerry Sloan through the years. They take great pride in winning at Salt Lake City.

The Celtics have had two extra days of rest to prepare for this matchup. The Jazz have already lost five times at home to Eastern Conference clubs..

It's not too much to ask of the Celtics to cover this low spread.

UEFA Cup:

Tottenham Hotspur pick +165 (2 way betting, where a draw pushes)

Anyone looking to make a bet on Tott'ham and not into soccer should be advised as it looks as if they are fielding a very young team due to resting, injured and ineligible players. Very few, if any, regs are playing (lots of 17-19yr olds in the lineup). Redknapp (coach) pretty much said it himself that he's not interested in the UEFA cup. Shakhtar hasn't played a (real) match in over a month.
