Colorado vs. Calgary
Today's Pick: Avalanche/Flames UNDER
The Flames have seen the UNDER go 44-21 the last 65 times that they played a home game with an over/under line of 5.5. That includes a 14-4 mark this season. Meanwhile, the Avs have seen the 18-6 when playing a road game with an over/under line of 5.5. Overall, the UNDER is 20-6-2 when they've faced a team with a winning record. The Avs won the most recent meeting, 3-2 here at Calgary last month. That's worth noting as we find the UNDER at 19-9-5 on the season when the Flames were playing with "revenge" and 55-32-14 in that role the past three seasons. The Flames were shutout last game while the AVs managed just one goal. Those results brought the UNDER to 8-4 in Colorado's last 12 games (13-5-2 L20!) and 9-3 in Calgary's last dozen games. Consider a play on the UNDER.

Texas A&M vs. BYU
Today's Pick: BYU
The Aggies did open 15-1 but enter this game at 24-10. Later in the season, Okla St snapped a 19-game road losing streak by winning in College Station plus A&M lost by 27 at Texas, scoring just 50 and by 27 in Norman, scoring just 37. It's safe to say the Aggies miss Acie Law (18.3-3.3-5.0). Neither Sloan (9.4-4.0-3.4) nor Kirk (8.6-3.4-3.5) came anywhere near filling his shoes in the backcourt. Carter (12.5), a 6-7 swingman , finished as the team's leading scorer but the 6-9 Jones (10.4-5.1) had what only could be described as a disappointing year, as the four-year player's scoring and rebounding averages were career lows! Jordan (8.2-6.2), the team's 7-0 freshman center, was a "mixed bag." He'll face BYU's 6-11 Plaisted (15.6-7.8) in this game and may not do all that well. BYU's two 6-6 players, Cummard (15.8-6.4-3.5) and Tavernari (13.1-5.3), gave MWC foes matchup fits this season and may do so in the early rounds of the NCAA tourney as well. The guard trio of Burgess (8.8), Fredette (6.9) and Murdock (4.0-3.87 APG) is consistent, if not spectacular. What often goes unnoticed with BYU is its defense (especially on the perimeter) and its defensive rebounding. BYU has held opponents to 63.1 PPG, with a FG percentage of 38.6 (8th-best), including a three-point percentage of 29.5 (5th-best). The team's 26.7 defensive rebounds per game ranks them second in the nation. BYU last won an NCAA tourney game in 1993 (0-5 since) and is long overdue to get one. Take whatever points they give you with the Cougars.
