*VALPARAISO over Wisconsin-Milwaukee...With veteran Valpo off probable loss at ranked Butler, recommend laying reduced number vs hurtin’ UWM with top scorer and rebounder G T. Johnson (18 ppg, 8 rpg) suspended for year and F Gentry (5 ppg in 16 mpg) suddenly leaving team. Well-balanced Crusaders (6 players between 9 & 12 ppg) are industrious on both ends (lead conf. in FG % offense and defense), and depth-shy Panthers playing 4th game in 8 days. Revved-up Valpo makes statement in first home game in newly-joined Horizon League.

*VALPARAISO 86 - Wisconsin-Milwaukee 58 RATING - 11

Phoenix Suns at Utah Jazz

Grant Hill out of the lineup here for the Suns so their offense will be missing a kepy component. Coach D'antoni won't want to pile the minutes on Stoudemire or Nash after last night's OT affair. Phoenix and Utah have gone over in five of the last seven including the December 12 103-98 Suns' win. Jazz has shown a tendency to go under the total when seeking same season revenge, has held its last two opponents under 100 points and is 11-3 UNDER this season versus teams shooting 36% or better from three-point range. Loser in four of the last five games of this series has scored 104 points or less.

Play on: Under

Stanford (-10) at OREGON STATE

Last night it was another comp winner on St. Bonaventure plus the points at Xavier. Our free plays now stand at 39-24 the last 63!

Stanford hasn't been able to cover too many games of late, as Trent Johnson's squad is on a money-burning 0-4 slide, and have failed in 8 of their last 10 games on line.

We look for that to change tonight when they visit Oregon State. The Beavers are on a little slide of their own, as State has lost their last 4, and are just 2-4 against the spread their last 6.

Then there is the fact Stanford has won 9 of the last 10 series meetings, including 4 straight wins, and covers in 13 of the last 16 conference battles. The road team has covered 10 of the last 14 meetings, ALL numbers that support the Cardinal tonight in Corvallis.

Play on Stanford minus the road chalk.

5* STANFORD

Jeff Bonds

NBA Total
triple-dime bet SAC / MEM Under 203.5

Analysis:
The public will jump on the over on Friday night with this being well under the 220 totals that were set for this matchup in 2007.

Sacramento is well aware of its 17-game winning streak over the Memphis Grizzlies, which will have them playing a defensive brand of basketball with most of their offensive players out injured.

The UNDER is 5-1 in the Grizzlies last six games when their opponent allows 100 points or more in their previous game.

The UNDER is 5-0 in the Kings last five games in the same exact situation.

With all the firepower out of the lineup - expect a low-scoring affair with the UNDER being 7-3-1 in the Kings last 11 games after scoring 100 points. This can be attributed to the players learning each other on the offensive end.

CBB Sides
triple-dime bet Detroit 2.5 vs Cleveland St

Analysis:
Detroit has certainly seen better days for its basketball program, but they can definitely turn things around, as they have a dominant edge over the Cleveland State Vikings tonight.

Detroit has won 20 straight games over Cleveland State at home and hold a decisive 19-0 career mark over the Vikings at Calihan Hall.

The home team is a dominant 10-1 ATS in the last 11 meetings and Detroit has covered the last five home meetings by an INCREDIBLE 24.4 points.

We have a LIVE UNDERDOG tonight everyone!

CBB Sides
double-dime bet Southern California -1.5 vs Washington St.

Analysis:
I've pinpointed this game since the Trojans were swept in Northern California - because I think we get tremendous value with the oddsmakers tonight.

I'm not completely sold on the Cougars as a Top-5 team and the edge in this defensive war has to go to the home team that's in a must win situation.

USC wasn't near 100% last weekend and it showed, but they showed signs of life against Stanford - holding the Cardinals to 27 percent shooting - the lowest mark since Nov. 20, 1999.

Freshman sensation O.J. Mayo is getting better with each game and has scored 282 points in his first 14 games - the most by a Pac-10 freshman since 1996-97 season.

Expect history to be repeated tonight, as the Trojans played another undefeated Pac-10 team in the third conference game of the 2006-07 season and knocked them out of the ranks of the unbeatens - sending Oregon to a 84-82 loss at home.

King Creole

CBB Sides

triple-dime bet Pacific -5.0 vs Long Beach

Analysis:
3*** BEST BET on: PACIFIC TIGERS minus the points

Considering the Tigers are one of the class teams of the Big West Conference (along with Northridge, UCSB, and Fullerton St), it's extremely surprising to see that they lost not once but TWICE last season to the lowly 49ers of Long Beach State (82-76 and 92-64). That's ALL I needed to see. We'll once again follow a System tonight which has been EXTREMELY profitable so far in the 2007/20008 season.... as long as we PICK and CHOOSE our situations logically and intelligently.

So far this season, NCAA teams playing with DOUBLE-Revenge from last year are a very profitable 39-19 ATS (67%). If our 'Revenger' is playing with the CONFIDENCE of a SU win in their last game, these teams are a remarkable 21-3 ATS so far (88%). If our 'Revenger' is playing with SUPREME confidence of 2 or more SU wins in a row (like the TOGERS), the results improve to 13-1 ATS (93%). And to top it all off, if this 'Revenger' is taking on a team in the doldrums of a current 2-or-more-game LOSING streak, the results improve to a PERFECT 6-0 ATS (100%). With Pacific off a couple of wins in a row, they certainly qualify. And Long Beach State has lost 4 STRAIGHT games (to Cal-Poly, UCSB, Bucknell, and California)... so they certainly are active in this "play AGAINST' System.

The important thing to thing about logically is that we must have a strong enough team playing with enough confidence to actually IMPLEMENT that Revenge.... and we do indeed have that tonight in the PACIFIC TIGERS

So So lately

Thursday's College Basketball Plays

6-Unit Play (Game of the Week). #739 Take UCSB PK over UC Irvine

I'm sorry, but this line is not correct. Santa Barbara is the clearcut better team, and the should be favored by at least a basket or two. Yes, the Gauchos had a loss they could have done without in their last game against Cal State Northridge, but that setback came in a high scoring, back-and-forth affair where CSU Northridge hit 11 three-pointers. This match-up UCSB will be on its game against an inconsistent Anteaters team that has dropped four of their last five and seven of their last ten. The Gauchos have won and covered three of the last four meetings with UC Irvine, and prior to its setback last time out, Santa Barbara had only lost to Stanford and North Carolina this season. UCSB has the Big West's big player in Alex Harris, along with a couple of very strong secondary scorers in Chris Devine and James Powell. This threesome will lead their program to a nice victory as they continue conference play. Take Santa Barbara.

Doc's Service NCAA Service Plays

4 Unit Play. #754 Take USC -1 ½ over Washington State (11:00 pm FSN) The Cougars were lucky to survive a scare against Washington last week and will finally see their undefeated mark disappear with this week’s trip to Tinsel town. The Trojans struggled in the Bay Area last week but are ready for some home cooking against a smaller team that what Stanford and California brought to the table. The Trojans have dominated this series over time winning 64 of the 103 meetings and the Cougars do not score enough points to blowout USC early and thus the young team will gain confidence, as they clearly have the more athletic team.

Stan Sharp

CBB Sides

double-dime bet Nevada -6.0 vs San Jose St.

Analysis: We get great line value here has Vegas has over compensated San Jose St.'s upset of Santa Clara in their last game. San Jose St should be flat tonight as they get run over by a much better Nevada team. This game is a mismatch. TAKE NEVADA as STAN'S COLLEGE MISMATCH BIG BET OF THE WEEK and make them a DOUBLE DIME PLAY.
