Top 10 Battle in Ohio

The matchup between the Purdue Boilermakers and Ohio State Buckeyes is the best of the Wednesday night schedule. Here’s the preview from BroburySports.com.
Purdue is a 3 ½-point road dog at BroburySports. The Big Ten Network will broadcast the game at 6:30 pm ET. ESPN will have No. 6 Duke (-7 ½) at Miami at 7 pm ET.
No. 4 Purdue (21-3 SU, 11-12-1 ATS) is perhaps the streakiest team in the country this year. They started 14-0 straight-up (7-6-1 ATS) before meeting with an untimely three-game losing streak (0-3 ATS).
The Boilers have roared back with a current seven-game winning streak (4-3 ATS), including a 63-40 win over awful Iowa on Saturday.
Purdue got the ‘cover’ as huge 19 ½-point favorites. The prior game was a 76-64 win at Michigan State as three-point ‘dogs. That was a huge game for Purdue as they proved they could beat an elite team on the road.
Michigan State guard Kalin Lucas was banged up in that game, but it might not have mattered with Purdue shooting 56.8 percent from the field and 42.9 percent from three-point land (6-of-14).
The team’s three big scorers of Robbie Hummel (16.1 PPG), JaJuan Johnson (14.9 PPG) and E’Twaun Moore (17.3 PPG) still dominate the stat sheet, but they’re getting increasing contributions from other guys. That makes them real dangerous.
Turner the key for Buckeyes
No. 9 Ohio State (20-6 SU, 13-13 ATS) is on a six-game winning streak of its own. They’re 10-3 SU in the Big Ten. That puts them tied with Michigan State and a half-game ahead of Purdue (9-3).
Ohio State is led by perhaps the best all-around player in the country, Evan Turner. The 6-foot-7 swingman is averaging 19 PPG, 9.4 RPG, and 5.8 APG.
The Buckeyes are 17-3 SU and 13-7 ATS with Turner in the lineup. They were 3-3 SU and 0-6 ATS when he was out with his back injury. OSU has four players scoring in double digits (Turner, William Buford, Jon Diebler, David Lighty) plus rugged big man Dallas Lauderdale (7.4 PPG).
These teams have split the last six meetings, with Ohio State winning the last two home games in overtime. Purdue is just 2-6-1 ATS in the last nine games in Columbus and 4-14-1 ATS in the last 19 games overall versus OSU.
