Portland Trail Blazers vs. Minnesota Timberwolves
Play: Minnesota Timberwolves

1 Unit, Take Minnesota +2, This pick falls into one of my NBA systems and Portland is just 3-6 ATS when playing against a team with a losing record in the 2nd half of this season. This is the Trailblazers 4th road game in 5 nights and they just played last night against a good Cavaliers team losing by 8 points. Portland has owned the Wolves in the past but that will change tonight as they play a rested Wolves team that has not played since March.8. The Wolves are a perfect 2-0 SU this season as a home dog of 3 points or less and they are coming off back to back road wins which they look to build on. Grab the points although you shouldn't need the extra basket tonight.

Play On: Portland Trailblazers

Note: Blazers travel to Minnesota off last night's 8-point loss at Cleveland as they catch the Timberwolves off surprising back-to-back upset wins. That's a key factor in this contest considering Minny's 1-4 SU and ATS mark at home in games off back-to-back underdog victories. With Portland 7-1 ATS the last eight games in this series, look for the Blazers to get back on the win track at Minnesota's expense here tonight.

Northern Arizona Lumberjacks - 2 over Weber State Wildcats

Weber State (16-13, 10-6) vs. Northern Arizona (20-10, 11-5) in Big Sky games leads the league in field goal percentage, field goal percentage defense, scoring margin, and rebounding margin. The Jacks went 2-0 (1-1 ATS) vs. Weber this season. They'll be looking to avenge an 88-80 loss to Weber in last season's Big Sky champ game. (Big Sky semifinals, Rose Garden, Portland)

Louisiana Tech vs. San Jose State
Play: Louisiana Tech

Louisiana Tech is 9-1 ATS when playing against a team with a losing record this season and they are 7-0 ATS versus poor defensive teams that have a defense allowing a shooting percentage of greater than 45% this season. San Jose State is 1-9 ATS after 4 straight games forcing their opponent to commit 14 or less turnovers this season. All signs point to an upset but we will take the free point!

Portland at Minnesota
Play on: Portland Trailblazers

The Trailblazers are heating up going 6-2 ATS their last eight games, and are 8-2 ATS vs Minnesota the last three years. The Trailbalzers are also 4-1 ATS at Minnesota the last three years, and 5-2 ATS when playing on Tuesday's the last three years. We look for the Portland Trailblazers to grab the road ATS Win & cover tonight.

Toronto Raptors at LA Lakers

After a rare win (without Chris Bosh), the Raptors are in for a rude awakening when they travel down to Los Angeles for this match-up with the Lakers on Tuesday night. While the Raptors took advantage of a struggling Sonics club on Sunday they now face a top notch Lakers team that will be in a foul mood tonight. The Lakers just lost to Sacramento on Sunday night in a game which, admittedly, they were not prepared for. The Lakers simply overlooked the Kings and fell behind by double digits at the half. Los Angeles did respond and come back but they still fell a point short on the scoreboard. The Lakers had previously won six straight at home and this will serve as a ‘wake-up call’ for them. Los Angeles will take advantage of a Raptors team that has not been able to adjust without Bosh, their star player. While the Raptors did defeat the Sonics on Sunday, that game was at home. Now, the Raptors are on the road and they are in the wrong place at the wrong time. This one should be all Lakers!

Play on: LA Lakers

Seattle Supersonics vs. Indiana Pacers
Play: Indiana Pacers

Off losses in six of its last seven games, Indiana will be elated to see Seattle come to town. The SuperSonics have dropped eight of their last nine games and this will be Seattle's sixth road game in 11 nights. If the Pacers can't smoke this exhausted team, especially with revenge from a 95-93 loss to the Sonics back in early November, then something is seriously wrong.

Historically speaking, this has been a profitable spot for Indiana. At home matched up against a Western Conference foe, the Pacers are a tremendous 34-16 ATS provided their opponent owns a won/loss percentage of less than .375. In this role priced as a home favorite of -11 or less, Indy improves to a sizzling 27-10 ATS!

There is a strong system that goes against Seattle in this contest too. Since 1990, sub .300 non-conference road underdogs are a soft 39-57 ATS provided they enter off back-to-back straight up losses and they're going into revenge. Even worse, priced as an underdog of +8' or more and matched up against a foe that checks in off a SU and ATS loss, our play against pup dips to a dismal 1-12 ATS! The Sonics fit this system and the tightener perfectly.

As underdogs (or pick) versus a sub .400 opponent, Seattle has posted a woeful 7-16-1 ATS mark. The Pacers still have an outside chance at the No. 8 spot in the Eastern Conference playoffs and they must win games like this to stay alive.

Take Indiana.

Portland at MINNESOTA +2

Take Minnesota as the small home dog tonight over Portland.

The Timberwolves have been idle since Saturday and this is their lone home matchup during a six-game span. That should be enough for them to bring a maximum effort tonight.

Portland is playing its fourth game in five days, so the fatigue factor should come into play.

The Timberwolves can rely on Al Jefferson to provide the scoring and rebounding, as he's posted over 40 double-doubles this season.

Take Minnesota as the small home chalk to get it done over Portland.

3* MINNESOTA

POR Trail Blazers @ MIN T'Wolves

Take "POR Trail Blazers"

Portland seems to be getting its second wind to some extent. The Blazers dropped one at Cleveland last night, but they've been a decent spread run the last couple weeks. Minnesota has yet to win three straight all season, so they're in a fade spot here and the spread is certainly not an issue. I'll offer up the Blazers as small road chalk.

Jim Feist

MEM Grizzlies @ PHX Suns

Take "PHX Suns"

Forget about the Timberwolves and Heat -- Memphis is the worst team in the NBA. GM Chris Wallace takes the nod as worst GM in game after that awful trade of Pau Gasol for Kwame Brown. Talk about pulling the rug out from under your team! The Grizzlies are playing like they know management doesn’t care, 1-10 SU/ATS the last 11 games. They were a dog of 9 or more in 7 of those games and still got routed. Memphis plays no defense, which will be a huge problem against this uptempo Phoenix attack. The Suns are looking to rip off some easy wins, still under criticism after the Shaq trade. It won’t be hard to blow out this Memphis team. Play the Suns!

Game: Utah Jazz at Chicago Bulls
Prediction: Utah Jazz

Reason: Utah is 10-2 ATS off two straight games where they allowed 10 or less offensive rebounds and they are 20-7 ATS after outrebounding their opponents by 10 or more in 3 straight games. The Jazz are 30-15 ATS when the Total is 210 or higher. Chicago is 3-11 ATS off one or more straight Overs and they are 4-13 ATS off two straight games as road dogs. The Bulls are 1-8 ATS off three straight games with 14 or less turnovers. PLAY ON UTAH

Philly Flyers

I’ve bet against the Toronto Maple Leafs several times already this season and have no problem doing it tonight when they host the Philadelphia Flyers. Philadelphia is finally starting to get their rhythm back after a disastrous ten game losing streak. The Flyers have gotten points in five out of their last seven and have won their last two straight. They’re also trying to hold off the rest of the Eastern Conference for the eight and final playoff spot. Philadelphia has been a solid road team all season long with a record of 19-15 while Toronto has really struggled at the Air Canada Center going 16-19. Toronto is in one of these “Must Win” situations where bad teams often fall short. “If you think about it, there are eight points on the table for us,” defenseman Tomas Kaberle who was referring to the home and home series with Philadelphia. “But we’ve made it tough on ourselves all year.” The Flyers are just two points back from Boston for the 7th playoff seed and I expect this team to make a run at that spot starting today. Take Philadelphia tonight.
