We Cover Spreads

Wake Forest+1.5

The Blue Devils come into Winston-Salem with a bad taste in their mouth after last year being upset here as 8 point favorites. Duke is hot right now coming in winners of 8 straight. Wake Forest comes in off an upset loss to an underated Va Tech squad. The loss to Tech is tough to swallow especially since James Johnson was limited due to foul trouble. Jeff Teague comes in leading this Demon Deacons squad with 21ppg and just over 2 steals per game as well. James Johnson(13.6 ppg and 7.8 Rebounds per game) is also another great defensive player. He can defend in the post and is athletic enough to defend guys at the 3 position which is huge in this game against Duke. 7'0 foot center Chas McFarland has to make his presence felt as well tonight in order for Wake to get the win. He stepped up huge vs UNC adding 20 points 9 boards and 2 blocks. The other big body in the paint is Al Farour Aminu a lanky 6'8 shot-blocking forward who as a Freshmen is averaging 12.6 points per game and 8.6 rebounds per game. He can cause some disruption in the paint for the Duke big men. We feel Wake Forest has the advantage in the paint against Zoubek, Singler McClure, and Henderson who is forced to have to bang around the boards sometimes. We feel Wake has the edge both offensively and defensively in the paint tonight and that's the difference maker. Of course Scheyer, Smith, Henderson, and Paulus are huge perimeter threats. Wake must disrupt these guys tonight. Teague can score with any of them and can D-Up any of their guards. Wake Forest isn't as deep at guard as Duke. L.D Smith has been playing well averaging just under 10ppg , Ishmael Smith isn't much of a scoring threat and we don't like how he matches up with the Duke backcourt tonight either. Guadio's team has the defensive athleticism to guard the perimeter tonight and contend with Duke's solid shooters. They should win the battle of the boards as well. This place will be rocking tonight and that will help benefit the Wake Forest players huge tonight as they look to rebound from a bad performance vs Va Tech.

Pitt-3

The biggest advantage tonight for Pitt is this game isnt being played at The Pavilion. It's at the Spectrum While still in the same city and technically still a home game, it is now off-campus which will make a difference here since none of these 'Nova players have ever played here before.Nova hasn't played here since 1998 to be exact so it's not like a they're playing at the Wachovia Center where they play quite a few times per season and are familiar with the building. So that alone takes a lot of edge away from 'Nova. We've been pounding Pitt lately and they have been cashing in for us. Tonight we'll take them @ the Spectrum. Villanova just had trouble putting a bad South Florida team away in a 70-61 victory. It was bad as USF hung around and shot just 55% from the line. They are a good team and seem to step up for big games as they played both UConn and L'Ville down to the wire.Pitt's only conference loss came to L'Ville a game in which they would've probably won if Biggs and Blair weren't in foul trouble. As we told you the other day the trio of Blair, Biggs, and Young is easily one of the Top 5 front courts in the nation. Now Nova is a great a defensive team but this is one tough trio to contend with and a great floor general in LeVance Fields to run the show. Nova is a group with heart and will contend tonight but too much overall talent for Pitt will prevail them to victory and us a cover.

Pistons-1

We know how hot ATS the T'Wolves have been and hats off to Mr.McHale and how he has turned this young team around. Tonight we think give the edge to the Pistons. They have been slumping as of late but it will turn around. The veterans will step it up tonight and get the W in Minnesota. Losers of 7 of their last 10 games is tough. The T'Wolves defensively are their achilles heal besides their youth. They have trouble making stops and the Pistons have enough weapons to put some points on the board tonight. We're taking the veteran Pistons to come up here with a road win vs. an improving T"Wolves squad.

Pittsburgh at Villanova
Prediction: Pittsburgh

This has been a home court dominated series but just can't buy into Nova here. Pitt has just walked through the toughest conference in the country and would be unbeaten if not fora five minute shooting vapor lock at Louisville, a game they led by ten in the final ten minutes. Pits results against simialar are wins by 16 over Georgetown and 13 over West Virginia. The Wildcats are 3-3 in BE action, just 1-1 at home, and Big East home faves are just 4-13 as of today. Lets call this Pitt 74-59.
