1000♦ Orlando Magic
Take the Magic plus the points.
No doubt I could make a case for laying the points with the rested Cavaliers who have yet to be tested in the playoffs, but given how profitable Orlando has been in this head to head series over the years I want no part in laying double digits between the two best teams in the east tonight.
The Magic advancing to the conference finals with an easy win at Boston just days ago is not the team Cleveland wanted to be facing in this year’s Eastern Conference playoffs. You see for Orlando they have been a more thorn in the Cavaliers side as the Magic won the regular season series by winning 2 of the 3 games straight up while going a perfect 3-0 ATS, including the most recent meeting where Orlando crushed Cleveland 116-87 as a 3’ point favorite. But the numbers don’t stop there as over the years as Orlando has covered 10 of the last 11 meetings, including a perfect 5-0 ATS mark in their last five trips in Cleveland.
Meanwhile, for Cleveland I see their run of 8 straight double digit playoff wins ending tonight as Orlando is a major step up in competition and a tougher team for Cleveland to match up with due to Howard down low and shooters spread out everywhere.
So while I am not calling for an outright win tonight for Orlando I do expect for the Magic to keep things close and well inside the lofty number.
Take Orlando plus the points!
200♦ Toronto & Boston UNDER the total
On the diamond I look for a low scoring game tonight in Fenway. Having played a low scoring game last night I look for another pitchers dual tonight as Cecil & Penny battle it out on the mound. You see for the Bluejays they might of round magic in the bottle as Cecil has been a huge surprise going 2-0 with an ERA of 1.80 in three starts. Now for Boston they turn to the ever improving Penny who has started to turn things around by lowering his season ERA by almost two runs over his last three starts. Meanwhile, together its Toronto & Boston combining to go under the posted price in 6 of their last 7 combined games heading into tonight and 8 of the last 11 series games dating back to last year. Well given the strong Under treads and the expected pitching duel I see nothing but a low scoring game the stays well under the total.
