Tuesday: 1-6, -8.1650 units

MAYDAY! MAYDAY!

I'm in a tremendous cold streak and the luck is not getting much better. The Cubs -1.5 runs have a 5 run lead in the 6th inning and the game gets called and the bet is cancelled. Seattle's 3-0 lead in the 7th evaporated quickly also in a 403 loss. Something has to change. Proceed with caution.

I would be remiss in not mentioning AJ's decision to move in a different direction. I wish him the best of luck. Certainly not the path I would choose but I understand his reasoning and I wish him the best of luck. He's a good kid and was a true asset this forum and will be missed.

UNDER GRAND SALAMI 142 RUNS (2.75 UNITS) - It's very rare I play the Salami but it just jumped out at me today. First off, it's getaway day which often leads to managers resting players and also umpires excited to catch flights. Most importantly, I see a bevy of "under" umpires today and several teams with major injuries and missing players. In SF today we get Miller who is 12-3 UNDER his last 15, 21-12 UNDER last year and 82-58 UNDER the past 3+ years. In Philly, we get Bell who is 23-16 UNDER the past 1+ years. In Colorado we get Barry who is 12-2 UNDER his last 14. In LAA, we get Onora who is 27-16 UNDER the last 1+ years. In Texas we get Muchkinski who is a career 17-6 UNDER. In Arizona, we get Merriweather who is 25-16 UNDER the past 1+ seasons and 78-60 UNDER the past 3+ seasons. In Oakland we get Eddings who is 80-62 UNDER the past 3+ seasons. In KC, we get Bill Hohn who is 21-13 UNDER the past 1+ seasons and 42-28 UNDER the past 3+ seasons. In Cincy, we get Estabrook who is 18-9 UNDER the past 3+ seasons. At Wrigley we get Carlson who is 59-47 UNDER the past 3+ seasons.

As for injuries, the Mets are without Delgado, Reyes abd Beltran. The Brewers are without Braun and Weeks and possibly Hardy. The Cards are still without Ludwick, Ankiel, Glaus and Molina will probably sit. The Reds are missing Brandon Phillips. Carlos Quentin is out for the White Sox. Derrek Lee is battling the flu for the Cubs. Hansley Ramirez is doubtful for the Marlins. Casey Blake is doubtful and Rafael Furcal is ?. Adrian Gonzalez is ? for the Pods. Pablo Sandoval is out for the Giants. Barlett and Iwamura are out for the Rays.

St. Louis and Oakland both don't hit lefties.

Just a ton of factors for the UNDERS.
UNDER STL/MILW 9 RUNS (-112) (2 UNITS)
COLORADO -119 (1.5 UNITS)
UNDER WASH/METS 7,5 RUNS (-112) (1.75 UNITS)
ATLANTA -105 (1.75 UNITS)
UNDER TOR/BALT 8.5 RUNS (-115) (1.75 UNITS)
SEATTLE -113 (1.75 UNITS)
DETROIT -106 (2 UNITS)

Wednesday
15 Dime Nuggets
5 Dime Tigers
5 Dime Mariners

Free pick - Under Nuggets/Lakers

15 Dime Nuggets - I honestly believe this statement tonight: a trip to the NBA Finals is on the line tonight when these two take the court. Two ways to look at it, and that would be LA wins big to steal the momentum, or the Nuggets keep it close enough before stealing one on the road and heading back to Denver.Oh my ... will the NBA and David Stern be dealing with the Magic and Nuggets in the NBA Finals? A marketing nightmare for sure, but one thing is certain in these Western Conference Finals, ain't no team winning by a touchdown!Forget the fact the Nuggets are getting "too physical" for the Zen Master and the biggest cry baby in the league, they're flat-out getting it done against Los Angeles. They're reminding everyone they were the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference, and when you get to this point in the playoffs, none of that matters anyway. The lower-seeded Magic are up 3 games to 1, and the tattooed, physical, rough-and-tumble Nuggets have seized momentum against Los Angeles.Whether or not they win this game remains to be seen, but they're sure capable of knocking off LA, I know that much. They're capable of winning the first half, and holding the Lakers off through the third, knowing the fourth quarter is all the purple and gold shows up for.Denver's bench is playing ball. Denver's stars are playing ball. Dahnte Jones is tripping things up (couldn't resist) to put fear into the Lakers. George Karl has the defensive prowess he loves to employ working well. This is a team that is playing very aggressive, and I don't think the Lakers are used to that, nor are they in a position to figure out how to attack back. They're not used to being bullied.Tonight the Nuggets are going to keep things close and win or lose, stay inside the number.

5 Dime Tigers - Like the way this kid Rick Porcello overcame the rough start to his first month in the majors - 1-3 with a 6.23 ERA in April - and has becoming dominating during May, winning his last four starts and posting a 1.13 ERA. This kid has allowed three runs over 24 innings and is clearly going to be a part of the rotation this summer. And while I know the Tigers have dropped three of four after a season-high seven-game winning streak, they are in a good position to swing the sticks in this matinee, after being shut down by Zack Grienke last night. Today they get Kyle Davies, who is more of a straight-away kind of pitcher and who will make enough mistakes to get us the money.

5 Dime Mariners - Like our chances with Erik Bedard, who is 3-3 with a 3.07 ERA in nine starts against Oakland, and who hasn't allowed a run in his last 16 innings versus the Athletics. In his first meeting against the Athletics this season he gave up three hits and struck out seven over 8-1/3 innings of a 1-0 victory at Oakland on April 12. It adds to the domination of the A's over his career, as the southpaw has allowed one run and six hits over 22 innings, while striking out 22 batters in his last three starts against them. I know the A's have won three in a row and the common MLB system play is to take the home team to makeit four in a row, and that Seattle has lost five straight on the road; but Bedard is just what the doctor ordered tonight.

5-Unit Play. Take Minnesota (-125) over Boston

This is my Game of the Week. I think that the Twins are playing really well at home and that this is their chance to get a leg up on the series with Boston. A perfect example of how good the Twins are at home is today’s starter Kevin Slowey. Slowey is 13-3 in his last 16 home starts and the Twins are 45-16 in their last 61 games as a home favorite. After a nice comeback win last night I think it carries over and Minnesota gets the ‘W’ today.

Bill Marzano

Nuggets at Lakers
Pick: Nuggets +6.5

I really like the Denver Nuggets + the points in this game vs the LA Lakers...I think Denver could steal this game and win outright...Denver has played better overall in this series and I think are the better team...LA's bench has been outplayed the entire series...Denver has more scoring threats than the Lakers and I think are playing better defensively...the Nuggets are 7-0 ATS in their last 7 games following a SU win of more than 10 points...6-0 ATS in their last 6 games as a road underdog...14-3 ATS in their last 17 after allowing 100 points or more in their previous game...21-5 ATS in their last 26 games overall...Denver + the points is the play.
