DOC'S

4 Unit Play.Take Virginia Tech -8 over Mississippi
The Hokies are looked dominating in their quest to reach the NIT Final Four and they will achieve that tonight against a terrible road team in Mississippi. The Rebels do not play much defense and thus will have trouble keeping this hot shooting team under ninety points. Ole Miss got all that they could handle from Nebraska at home on Monday as they were lucky to prevail in overtime. That took a lot out of them and expect a flat performance on Wednesday allowing Tech to amass an early lead that they will never relinquish. A. D. Vassallo will come up big again going for 20 points and leading his squad to NYC.

3 Unit Play.Take Houston +3 ½ over Tulsa
The Semi-finals of this never ending tournament take place tonight in Oklahoma when the Cougars come calling. These two squads have already met once this season with Houston winning that game by 11 points @ Hofheinz Pavilion. Houston also leads the all-time series between the schools 19-16 and expect this to be a close hard fought contest that goes right down to the wire. Getting the points makes this the only side to ponder

STRIKE POINT SPORTS

2-Unit Play. Take Bradley +5.5 over Virginia

Underdogs have done extremely well in this year's post season tournaments. Virginia has failed to cover both of its home spreads, mainly because they are overvalued. There is a reason why the Cavs were bottom feeders in the ACC all season long. I like this Bradley team at full strength, as they haven't been a lot of the season, but they are now. The Braves boast one of the better backcourt duos in Daniel Ruffin and Jeremy Crouch. This partnership will lead them to an outright win and advance in CBI play.

2-Unit Play. Take Dayton +8.5 over Ohio State

Finally with freshman Chris Wright back, this Flyers team is that much better with him. Led by senior scoring guard Brian Roberts, Dayton can go into Columbus an win. We saw them take the game outright over Illinois State on the road, and here they will cover this number and be in the game near the end in a close one.

2-Unit Play. Take Houston +3.5 over Tulsa

The Cougars took their lone regular season game over Tulsa, and I expect them to again find the winner's circle over the Golden Hurricane. Houston is just the overall better team, led by one of the better scorers in the country in Fluff McKiver. Houston wants to get up and down and shoot the three ball. I think they do it well and knock off fellow C-USA rep Tulsa in the process.

FERRINGO

Note: These games were posted early - 4 a.m. EST. If the numbers change, I still recommend all of the plays as long as the lines don't move more than a full point.

1-Unit Play. Take Bradley (+6) over Virginia
The Cavaliers have been the least inspired team I've seen in this postseason. Bradley is a club that started to hit it's stride just a week or so too late. The Braves can win this game outright so I like the points.

1-Unit Play. Take Virginia Tech (-8) over Mississippi
The Hokies have been possessed - consider them the anti-UVA - and they have shot phenomenally well at home in the NIT. Ole Miss has been a poor road team all season, posting a 2-7 SU mark and going 2-5 ATS recently. The Hokies have covered six straight home games and are the hot hand. This team is on a mission and I think they can manufacture another blowout win over a shaky SEC club.

1.5-Unit Play. TEASER: Take Virginia Tech (-3) over Mississippi AND Take Bradley (+11) over Virginia

Black Magic Sports

1 Unit on Houston Rockets -11

The Rockets look to continue their home dominance over the Minnesota Timberwolves tonight. Houston has won their last 2 home meetings with the T’Wolves by 31 and 28 points respectively. Houston is 18-7 ATS in the second half of the season this year. Minnesota is just 4-17 ATS in their last 21 games against Southwest Division opponents. Houston is 15-2 ATS versus poor pressure defensive teams - forcing less than 14 turnovers/game - 2nd half of the season this season. Unlike Minnesota, the Rockets get after it on defense by forcing their opponents to commit turnovers. This will be the key tonight where the Rockets will be the more aggressive team with a lot more at stake in the Western Conference. Cash in with Houston as the favorite.

Wunderdog

New Orleans at Cleveland
Pick: New Orleans +2.5

New Orleans has won four straight and sits atop the Western Conference - a conference loaded with great teams, the likes of which we have not seen in a long time. Yet, they continue to get little respect. In our minds, New Orleans is a Top 10 team while Cleveland is not (see power rankings). This line should be closer to a pick'em in our book and as such we see value on the Hornets. New Orleans has already beaten Cleveland once this season, by a healthy 10 points. Cleveland is known for defense but stats-wise, New Orleans' D is better. And, their ofefense is a LOT better. The Hornets are 42-28 ATS as an underdog the past two seasons and 24-10 ATS on back-to-back days. We like New Orleans and the 2.5 point cushion.
