INDIAN COWBOY'S WNBA RESEARCH

New York vs. Indiana

Indiana has beat this team 2 out of the last 3 games including a double-digit win on the road in their last contest. Obviously New York wants revenge from that game. The last contest that NY did win at home was an overtime win as it is obvious Indiana always plays New York tough all 3 times this year. NY comes off a 6 point loss at home to San Antonio and now hit the road to play Indiana. Indiana comes off a 10 point loss to Minny on the road so they too are on the bounce-back. Having said this, I wouldn't be surprised to see NY win this game outright as there is a reason why this line is as low as it is, note that over 60% are riding Indiana this game. Indiana is no stranger to losing at home either as they have lost 6 times this year at home, keep an eye on the over as well.

Washington vs. Detroit

Washington is a +15 dog today and over 60% of the public is biting on the road dog here. Why such a big dog? Several reasons - for one, Vegas obviously knows that with just 4 wnba games the public will load up on the public teams - in this case Washington. Detroit and Washington have history as they hate each other's guts so Detroit tries to run up the score on them. Detroit beat this team by 15 on the road last time, 33 on the road and 13 at home the other times they have played them this year. Washington has missed 6 straight covers including a 19 point burial at Chicago as they got drilled and Detroit has covered their last 3 contests. Tough to find any value here to be frank.

Conn vs. San Antonio

I've always said the -5.5 line is the most "stickiest" in sports which typically means Vegas expects the dog to do very well. San Antonio beat this team by 12 earlier this year, so obviously Conn has revenge here. Conn has lost 4 straight covers and the road games in Texas have not been good to them thus far. They lost by 7 and 12 to Houston and San Antonio (played in Conn). I look for Conn to do well here, but note that San Antonio has won their last 4 of 5 covers including at New York and at Conn.

Atlanta vs. Los Angeles

Really? 15.5? Is that all? lol. I actually thought they might put up a spread of 17 for this game. This is the biggest favorite on the card today though. The Sparks are 11-4 at home and the Dream are 2-13 on the road. In fact, they have twice as many wins on the road than they have at home. Atlanta has covered back to back ballgames after losing 7 straight covers. The Sparks have covered their last 6 of 7 including winning by 18 on the road at Houston and they even beat Sacramento at home by 15. This team beat the Dream by 18 on the road back in May and Atlanta did lose to NY by 11 on the road so it is not out of the realm that they do not cover here.
