INDIAN COWBOY'S WNBA RESEARCH

Indiana vs. Detroit

Let's talk about this game. Currently, the line sits at -8.5 in most places after opening up at -8. Indiana traditionally has not been good on the road, but elimination games are different - heck, look at Sacramento who went into San Antonio and nearly beat that team outright on the road. For someone who likes to fade the public mostly, it is a bit disappointing that there the public is not more heavily sided one way or another. But, I guess, that's just the way it goes. The public is even on both ends of these ballgames. This is why Saturday and Sunday yields far more value, because there is more games to be selective and choose from. Detroit first beat this team on the road by 8, then Indiana shows incredible heart and wins on the road in overtime. Now, Detroit looks to avenge that loss, similar to San Antonio yesterday. Of course, that didn't prevent Sacramento from covering that ballgame while also sending it well over. Notice, both of those games went over, and in the regular season, Detroit went 3-0 SU and 2-1 ATS against Indiana. Hence, Indiana beat Detroit for the first time all year with that outright win in OT their last game. Remember, whenever the first 2 games go over, and then the line is not adjusted the next game and is about the same such as this game, it typically means the game is going under. The same is true for when the first 2 games go over in the WNBA such as with the NY and Conn games yesterday, you saw the game go under - in essence, the total never goes all 3 times for one way or the other, it alternates on the third game. Based on this, I wouldn't be surprised to see an under here today.

Los Angeles vs. Seattle

Note, that most of the public actually favors Seattle in this game at home. Yet, the line opened up at -5 and has taken a hit down to -3.5 now. The total has also surprisingly come down roughly 2 points as well. Don't forget, Seattle is no joke, especially at home where they are 16-1, best record in all of Beaver Ball. Tough call here if you ask me, after all, how do you against the Sparks who come off a 14 point loss at home, both teams have covered at home thus far, the Sparks have the ability to lose but cover the 3.5, or even with this game outright as this team is fiery and both teams are competing for a spot in the playoffs. Frankly, I it is tough to go against the Storm, as that would be my lean here, but having said that, I don't want to challenge the Sparks here as I believe they have it within them to win this game outright. The total is too "tight" for me and rich for my blood as I see no value in today's action.
