Tuesday's Best WNBA Bets

Atlanta Dream at Seattle Storm (-7.5, 163)

Seattle leads WNBA Finals 1-0

Seattle needed a last-second jumper from star guard Sue Bird to take a one-game lead over the Atlanta Dream in the WNBA Finals Sunday.

Atlanta not only took one on the chin with Game 1’s 79-77 defeat, but star forward Angel McCoughtry took one on the forehead as well.

She had to have three stitches in her head after colliding with Seattle forward Jana Vesela in the fourth quarter. McCoughtry came back late in the game to miss a potential game-tying jumper and was limited in practice on Monday before Game 2.

Trainers expect McCoughtry to play Tuesday night but the bigger issue is her foul trouble. She was forced to sit the entire second quarter after picking up three quick fouls in the opening frame of Game 1. That disrupted any offensive rhythm McCoughtry had, leaving her to shoot just 6-for-17 from the field for 19 points.

"She has to do a better job of not getting into foul trouble and still staying aggressive," Atlanta coach Marynell Meadors told the media. "If we can keep her in the game on Tuesday, she'll have a better chance of getting into some type of rhythm."

With the Dream’s star forward playing passive due to injury and recent foul trouble, expect Seattle forward Lauren Jackson, the WNBA MVP, to have her way inside Tuesday night.

Pick: Seattle -7.5
