College Football Week 14 Odds, Point Spreads & Over/Under Totals
The 14th week of the 2009 College Football Season is all about championships and team looking to cement their spot in the Bowl Championship Series.
The biggest game of the week, and to the year at this point is Saturday’s SEC Championship between No. 1 Florida and No. 2 Alabama. Florida is a 4.5-point favorite according to oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL, but both teams come into this game undefeated and this game is essentially a BCS National Championship semifinal game, as the winner is assured to play for the national title. The Gators won last year’s SEC Championship meeting 31-10 on their way to the national title.
Another big game is the Big XII Championship, where No. 3 Texas faces No. 21 Nebraska. The Longhorns can make it to the BCS National Championship with a win and are 14-point favorites heading into Saturday’s game. The Longhorns are coming off a tough win over Texas A&M last Thursday and the previous meeting between the two was a 25-28 win for the Longhorns in October of 2007.
Another notable game takes place on Thursday, when No. 7 Oregon hosts No. 13 Oregon State for the right to represent the Pac-10 in the BCS. The game has shaped into a Pac-10 Championship game by default, and Oregon enters the game as a 9.5-point favorite. A year ago, the Ducks dominated the Beavers in a 65-38 win. This “Civil War” spans more than a century and the two teams certainly have plenty to play for on Thursday night.
