2009 College Football Week 14 Picks & Predictions
It’s Championship Week in the 2009 College Football Season, and today has plenty of marquee games to look out for.
Our team of writers and handicappers have four free picks to consider for Saturday’s schedule.
Cincinnati -2 at Pittsburgh, Noon ET
The Bearcats are playing for an unbeaten season and an outside shot at playing in the BCS National Championship game. Cincinnati has better offensive numbers than Pitt while their defenses are quite comparable. The Panthers don’t have the fire power to match scores with Cincinnati, as the Bearcats will find ways to put up at least 28 points in this game.

Alabama +5.5 vs. Florida, 3:30PM ET
This is the game everyone will be watching and is essentially a BCS semifinal. The Gators have all the tools to win this game, but Alabama has had to play second fiddle to Florida for almost two years now, and the Tide seem to have to best team they have had in decades. Alabama will be able to match physicality with Florida and with the spread at a touchdown, take the Tide with the points in what should be a close game either way.

Georgia Tech -1 vs. Clemson, 8PM ET
South Carolina showed last week that Clemson can be beaten up on defense and Georgia Tech has the offense to control this game. Look for the Yellowjackets to rack up a lot of rushing yards with their physical play and keep Clemson’s C.J. Spiller in check to win the ACC Championship.

Nebraska +14 vs. Texas, 8PM ET
Texas had trouble stopping Texas A&M’s offense last week and this week, look for the Longhorns offense to struggle against the Cornhuskers, who have a big and physical defensive line. With the point spread at 14 points, look for Nebraska to keep this game low scoring and for the Huskers to have a chance to win in the fourth quarter, covering the spread in the process.
