NFL Free Pick: Cowboys Home Favorites Over Raiders in Week 12
In the second of three games on Thanksgiving Day, the Dallas Cowboys will host the Oakland Raiders at 4:15PM ET in Week 12.
The Raiders pulled off one of the better upsets of the year when they knocked off the Bengals 20-17 as a 10-point underdog in Week 12. The combined score went over the posted total of 36 as quarterback Bruce Gradkowski threw for 183 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. Tight end Zach Miller also hauled in five passes for 65 yards and a touchdown.
The Cowboys barely edged the Redskins 7-6 as a 10.5-point favorite in Week 11, while the combined score fell under the posted total of 41.5. Tony Romo threw for 158 yards with a touchdown and an interception for Dallas, while Marion Barber rushed for 99 yards on 20 carries.
Oddsmakers from online sports book Sports Interaction have made the Cowboys 14-point home favorites over the Raiders in Week 12. The over/under total for Thursday’s matchup has been established at 40.
The Raiders have been one of the most inconsistent and maddening teams to follow this season. One week they’re beating the Eagles or Bengals and then the next they’re getting shut out by a struggling Jets team.
That said, the Cowboys’ offense has almost been non-existent over the past couple weeks and the one thing Oakland can do is defend the pass. With Romo not playing particularly well of late, this might not be a bad matchup for a Raiders team that might keep things close.
Our free pick prediction for this game is the Raiders +14. Oakland is 5-2 straight up in its last seven games when playing Dallas and while we don’t think they’ll win outright, the Raiders should keep things within two touchdowns.
We also like the over in this matchup. The total has gone over in four of the Cowboys’ last six games at home.
