Browns vs. Bengals Picks & Spreads
In-state rivals square off in Week 12 when the Cleveland Browns hit the road to take on the Cincinnati Bengals at 1:00PM ET on Sunday.
The Browns came up just short of winning their second game of the season when they fell to the Lions, 38-37 as a 3-point underdog in Week 11. The combined score went over the posted total of 37.5 as Brady Quinn racked up 304 passing yards and four touchdowns fro Cleveland. Rookie receiver Mohamed Massaquoi also hauled in five passes for 115 yards and a touchdown.
The Bengals were shocked in Oakland as they fell to the Raiders, 20-17. Cincinnati failed to cover the spread as an 8.5-point underdog, while the combined score went over the posted total of 36. Carson Palmer threw for 207 yards with an interception and a touchdown in the loss, while running back Bernard Scott rushed for 119 yards on 21 carries.
Oddsmakers from online sports book Sports Interaction have made the Bengals 14-point favorites over the Browns in Week 12. The over/under total for Sunday’s matchup has been set at 39 points.
Even though the Bengals are coming off an embarrassing loss to the Raiders, don’t forget that it was a trap game for them coming off a huge win against Pittsburgh in Week 10 and then having to fly cross-country to play in Oakland.
Cincinnati has dominated this series, winning eight of their last 10 meetings with the Browns and covering in six of those meetings. The Bengals are 5-2 against the spread in their last seven games at home and 9-4 against the number in their last 13 games.
The last time these two teams met, the Bengals edged the Browns 23-20 in overtime. But Cincinnati needs a win badly to stay atop the AFC North standings and it’ll likely cruise this week against Cleveland.
Quinn looked good last week, but he also did it against a horrid Detroit secondary. He won’t have the same success this week against a solid Bengals’ defense backfield. Take the Bengals –14, as well as the under 39. The Browns won’t score 37 points again this Sunday.
