Texas vs. Texas A&M Week 13 CFB Picks & Predictions

No. 3 Texas wraps up its regular season on Thanksgiving Day when the Longhorns face Texas A&M at 8PM ET from Kyle Field.

Bet Texas at Texas A&M

The Longhorns at 11-0 this season and 5-5-1 against the spread. Texas has covered in four of its last five games. Texas has defeated the Aggies in 9 of 13 conference meetings, but Colt McCoy is just 1-2 against them in his career.

Texas A&M is 6-5 this season and 5-5-1 against the spread. The Aggies have won three of their last five and covered in those three wins.

Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL have made Texas 21-point road favorites over Texas A&M on Thursday night. The over/under total for this game has been established at 62.5.

The Longhorns have been on a roll, winning their last five games by at least 27 points, yet the Aggies have been a thorn in McCoy’s side. In losses in 2006 and 2007, McCoy had just one touchdown with four interceptions. This year however, the matchup seems to be in his favor as Texas A&M is giving up 259 yards passing per-game, which is the 11th highest total in the country.

McCoy has thrown 23 touchdowns with nine interceptions on the season and receiver Jordan Shipley has caught 91 passes for 1,204 yards and nine touchdowns. The duo should connect plenty of times on Thursday to score a lot of points for the Longhorns.

The key in this pick will come down to the Texas defense shutting down the Aggie offense. The Aggies have a good quarterback in Jerrod Johnson, who has thrown for 2,875 yards and 24 touchdowns with just five interceptions. The Aggies can also run the ball with Cyrus Gray and Christine Michael. Since Texas has the top rushing defense in the nation, giving up just 51 yards per-game, it will be up to Johnson to make enough plays to keep Texas A&M competitive. With the home field edge, look for Texas A&M to be able to make this game mildly exciting, as the rivalry will get the Aggies to play a little better than usual. We suggest a pick of Texas A&M with the over in an offensive showcase
