2010 CFB Week 3 Alabama at Duke Picks & Predictions
By Drew Sharper
Alabama hits the road needing to win by more than three scores to cover against Duke on Saturday.
Alabama is a 23.5-point favorite against Duke according to oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com. The over/under is set at 58 points.
Alabama is 2-0 against the spread this season while hitting the under in both games. The Crimson Tide is 20-9 ATS in all lined games over the last three seasons and 6-1 ATS as a road favorite during that stretch. The Tide have a tendency to hit the under as they have done so in 14-of-24 games as a favorite since 2008.
Duke is 0-1 against the spread this year and the Blue Devils hit the over in the one game. The Blue Devils are 5-8 ATS since 2008 after playing a conference games. They are also 4-5 ATS in home games over the last three seasons. Duke has been a team that has had success with the over as they hit in 5-of-8 home games since 2008.
With Alabama getting Mark Ingram back this weekend, the Tide’s offense can only get better and we like them to easily cover the spread against Duke. The surprising number is the point total for the over/under. 58 seems like way too much for this game as the Alabama defense has allowed just six points on the season. We can’t see Duke posting many points, if any at all.
