2010 CFB Week 3 Pick – Take Florida -14 at Rival Tennessee
By Drew Sharper

Florida meets one of its big rivals in Tennessee on Saturday needing to win by two touchdowns in order to cover.

Bet Florida at Tennessee

Florida is a 14-point favorite against Tennessee according to oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com. The over/under is set at 45.

Florida is 2-0 on the year and 1-1 against the spread while splitting the over/under in the two games. The Gators are 5-1 ATS as a favorite of 10.5-to-21 points over the last three seasons while also going 6-2 ATS as a road favorite in that stretch. Florida tends to hit the under in its games as it has done so is 6-of-8 games on the road since 2008 and in 5-of-8 games in September over the last three years.

Tennessee is 1-1 on the year and 0-1 against the spread while hitting the over in the one lined game. The Volunteers are 9-6 ATS in conference games since 2008 but just 6-10 ATS at home in that time. Tennessee also has strong tendencies to hit the under as they have in 12-of-16 conference games since 2008 and in 8-of-12 games where they are an underdog in that time.

Florida has been shaky early, but rallied to cover against South Florida last week. Tennessee looked strong in the first half against Oregon before getting blown out in the second half. The spread is low, but this is also a rivalry game. The big issue is that Tennessee has struggled against the run and that is Florida’s strength. We think the Gators will be able to run the ball effectively and cover the spread while the under hits.
