2010 College Football Week 4 Report – Who Does the Public Favor?
By Drew Sharper
As the fourth weekend of the 2010 College Football Season gets set to kick off, here is a closer look at who the public is betting on in the biggest games.
In the marquee game of the week, No. 1 Alabama is a 7-point favorite at No. 10 Arkansas according to oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com. The public is supporting the Crimson Tide, as they are receiving 79% of public betting for this game.
One underdog that is getting a lot of support is No. 12 South Carolina, which heads to No. 17 Auburn on Saturday night. The Gamecocks are getting 3 points against the Tigers on the road, but receiving 61% of the public vote. Betters like the Gamecocks to cover and perhaps even win in this key SEC contest.
The most lop-sided betting comes in the game where No. 5 Oregon heads to Arizona State for a Pac-10 meeting. The unbeaten Ducks are 11.5-point favorites on the road, but still have 91% of the public voting behind them. Oregon has scored 189 points in 180 minutes of game action, making them an attractive team for the public.
