2010 College Football Week 8 Line Movement Report & Odds

The opening odds for each game in Week 8 of the 2010 College Football Season rarely stick, and here is a breakdown of which lines have moved the most.

Bet College Football Week 8

One of the point spreads that has had a significant change is in the Michigan State-Northwestern game. According to oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com the No. 8 Spartans are a 5-point favorite on the road, but the opening odds had MSU favored by 7 points. Michigan State is playing in its first game outside the state of Michigan on Saturday against the Wildcats.

2010 College Football Week 8 Line Movements (For Top 25 Games Only)

Syracuse vs. No. 20 West Virginia – Noon ET

The opening odds had West Virginia as a 16-point favorite against the Orange. The line has slowly dropped down to 14 points where it is currently at. The over/under hasn’t changed since opening at 43.

Duke vs. No. 23 Virginia Tech – Noon ET

The opening odds have not changed for the point spread or the over/under since starting at -26 and over/under 61.

Purdue vs. No. 11 Ohio State – Noon ET

The opening odds have the Buckeyes as a 23-point favorite against Purdue. The spread has gotten as high as 24 before settling in at 23.5. The over/under hasn’t changed since opening at 47.

No. 8 Michigan State vs. Northwestern – Noon ET

Michigan State opened as a 7-point favorite against the Wildcats. The point spread odds have decreased little by little each day before settling in at 5. The over/under held strong at 53 for most of the week by made a late drop to 52.5.

Iowa State vs. No. 22 Texas – Noon ET

The opening odds had Texas favored by 21.5 points with the odds getting as high as 22 before falling back to 20.5. The over/under hasn’t changed since opening at 48.

Mississippi vs. No. 21 Arkansas – 12:21PM ET

The odds for this game have not changed much as they were released late as word came out on the status of Arkansas quarterback Ryan Mallett. Mallett suffered a concussion last week against Auburn. Mallett is expected to play and thus Arkansas is a 9.5-point favorite with an over/under of 60.

No. 10 Wisconsin vs. No. 13 Iowa – 3:30PM ET

The opening odds are the current ones as Iowa started with a -5.5 point spread. The odds were as high as 6.5 before falling back to 5.5. The over/under hasn’t changed since opening at 48.

No. 14 Nebraska vs. No. 17 Oklahoma State – 3:30PM ET

Opening odds had Nebraska favored by 6 points and the odds were down to 5 during the week before adding the hook at 5.5. The over/under started at 60.5 but dropped the hook to move to 60.

No. 6 LSU vs. No. 5 Auburn – 3:30PM ET

Auburn opened the week as a 6.5-point favorite at home against LSU. The spread has bounced back and forth all week before settling in at 6. The over/under opened at 52 and added the hook throughout the week.

Washington State vs. No. 12 Stanford – 5PM ET

The odds in this game were at -35 for Stanford at one point before moving back to the opening odds of -34.5. The over/under hasn’t changes since opening at 63.5.

Colorado State vs. No. 9 Utah – 6PM ET

The opening odds had Utah as a 31-point favorite and the line has simply dropped a hook at 30.5. The over/under hasn’t changed since opening at 58.

No. 19 South Carolina vs. Vanderbilt – 7PM ET

The opening odds had South Carolina as a 12.5-point favorite in this game. The odds were as high as 13 points before falling down to 12. The over/under opened at 46 but added the hook to get to 46.5.

No. 7 Alabama vs. Tennessee – 7PM ET

The opening odds had Alabama favored by 16.5 points. The line got as high as 17 points before settling back at 16.5. The over/under hasn’t changed since opening at 48.

UAB vs. No. 24 Mississippi State – 7PM ET

The opening odds had Mississippi State as 20-point favorite but that line has now dropped down to 19.5. The over/under opened at 52 but has now added a hook at 52.5.

North Carolina vs. No. 25 Miami – 7:30PM ET

The opening odds had Miami favored by 6.5 points, but the spread went up to 7 before moving back to 6.5. The over/under hasn’t moved since opening at 48.

Air Force vs. No. 4 TCU – 8PM ET

The opening point spread saw TCU as an 18.5-point favorite and those odds climbed up to 20 during the week before coming back down to 18.5. The over/under has not changed since opening at 48.5.

No. 3 Oklahoma vs. No. 18 Missouri – 8PM ET

The opening odds were where the final odds are, with the Sooners favored by 3. The line was as high as 3.5 during the week. The over/under total started at 52, but has climbed up to 53.5 since.

Washington vs. No. 15 Arizona – 10:15PM ET

The opening odds had Arizona favored by 7.5 points. The line has slowly worked its way down all week, getting as low as 6 before settling in at 6.5. The over/under opened at 54 but has since dropped a hook down to 53.5.
