According to current college football odds and oddsmakers at online sports book Sportsbook.com, Nebraska is a 14-point favorite over Washington in the Holiday Bowl. The over/under total for this game is currently 53.5 points.
The Huskies enter this game with a 6-6 record, which just barely allowed them to qualify for a bowl game. They were 5-6-1 against the spread this season according to latest college football trends, while the over hit in seven of their 12 games.
The Huskers finished their season 10-3 after losing to Oklahoma in the Big 12 Championship. They wrapped up their season with a 6-6-1 record against the spread, while the over hit in seven of their 13 games.
2010 Holiday Bowl Free Pick:
This one has the potential to be just as lopsided as the beating Washington took earlier this year at home against Nebraska. The Huskers have the rushing attack to wear down Washington’s front seven and keep Jake Locker on the sidelines. Of course, Nebraska also has a pass defense led by NFL prospect Prince Amukamara that held Locker to 71 yards and picked him off twice earlier this season so pass away, Huskies. The only potential problem will see with this game is that Nebraska flat out won’t care. They lost two of their final three games, including a frustrating 9-6 loss at Texas A&M and a narrow 23-20 defeat at the hands of Oklahoma in the Big 12 title game. They know they drummed Washington bad in September and it’s human nature to let up a little when you know you’re facing a weaker opponent. But if the Huskers are emotionally charged and will overlook the fact that they’re not playing in a big bowl, they should roll. Our pick is Nebraska –14.
