2010 New Orleans Bowl on ESPN: Ohio vs. Troy Picks & Predictions
By Anthony Rome

Bet New Orleans Bowl

Troy won at least a share of the Sun Belt title for the fifth straight season and they’ll be playing in New Orleans for the third time in five seasons. The Trojans will take on Ohio in the 2010 New Orleans Bowl at 9:00PM ET on ESPN this Saturday and for picks on this game, continue reading.

According to college football bowl odds and oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com, Troy has been made a 2-point favorite over Ohio on Saturday. The over/under total for this game is currently 57.5 points and 56% of the betting public favors the Trojans in this contest.

The Bobcats finished the 2010 season with an 8-4 record, which included a 5-1 record at home and a 3-3 mark on the road. They also covered in eight of their 12 games this year according to latest college football trends and the over hit in seven of their 12 games.

The Trojans finished 7-5 on the year while posing a 4-1 home record and a 3-4 mark on the road. They failed to cover in eight of their 12 games and their over/under record was split done the middle (6-6).

New Orleans Bowl Free Pick:

The Bobcats will have a ton of problems trying to slow Corey Robinson and Troy’s spread offense on Saturday night. Robinson threw for a conference-leading 3,320 yards with 24 touchdowns this season and if he can keep the mistakes to a minimum, he could burn an Ohio defense that has problems matching up against the pass. The Bobcats are making their second straight bowl appearance but they’re 0-4 all-time in bowl games. That said, senior quarterback Boo Jackson will give the Trojans some issues and running teams have had more success in bowl games over the years because they can control the tempo of the game. This will be the case in the New Orleans Bowl, as Robinson will be left on the sidelines far longer than he usually is. Our pick is Ohio +2.
