2010 NFL Week 12 Public Betting Report – Who Does the Public Like?
By Anthony Rome
Without fail, the public loves one of the favorites on NFL Sunday. Find out which fav the public likes (as well as what other teams the public likes) in our 2010 NFL Week 12 Public Betting Report.
According to NFL Week 12 odds and oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com, the Steelers are 6-point favorites over the Bills on Sunday. And the public is all about the Steel Curtain this weekend.
Below is a snap shot of the top-5 NFL public betting favorites in Week 12.
1. Pittsburgh Steelers -6 84% (32,027)
2. Oakland Raiders -1 80% (2,442)
3. Philadelphia Eagles -3 79% (31,401)
4. Kansas City Chiefs -1 71% (16,191)
5. San Francisco 49ers -1 63% (11,270)
Even though the Bills lit up the scoreboard against the Bengals last week, apparently the public was more impressed by the Steelers blowing out the Raiders in Pittsburgh. Seeing as how they only have to lay six points with the Steelers this week, the public is all over them.
The public loves the Raiders this week because they play a depleted Dolphins team in basically a pick’em game. Brandon Marshall isn’t expected to play and even though Miami will have Chad Henne back, half of his offensive line is out due to injuries. The Dolphins were brutal last week against the Bears and could struggle again this Sunday having to travel cross country.
The Eagles are 3-point favorites on the road against the Bears, which looks like a fraud to most public bettors because they really haven’t beaten anybody this year. Plus, the public is all about Michael Vick this year, although he did look less like Superman last week in a win over the Giants than he has for much of the season.
The Chiefs only have to lay a point against the Seahawks in Week 12, although be careful. Seattle is a different team at home and Matt Hasselbeck has played well over the past couple of weeks. Kansas City has also struggled a bit on the road this year.
The 49ers are 1-point favorites over the Cardinals on Monday Night Football, even though Mike Singletary’s club has been hanus this year. Arizona has stunk as well and continues to search for consistency at the quarterback position.
