2010 NFL Week 7 Picks & Predictions
By Anthony Rome

Who do we like in the Sunday Night Football matchup between the Vikings and Packers? Read on to check out our 2010 NFL Week 7 Picks & Predictions.

Bet NFL Week 7

We make picks for every game on the NFL schedule each week, but below are our top 4 selections for Week 7. To check out all of our free picks for Week 7, as well as odds for each game, visit our NFL Section for more articles.

Cleveland Browns vs. New Orleans Saints, 1:00PM ET

McCoy may only be a rookie starting in his second game, but he looked poised last week against Pittsburgh, which owns one of the toughest defenses in the league. If he was able to move the ball some against the Steelers, he may have even more success against an aggressive New Orleans defense that can be had in coverage. On the other side, the Saints are banged up but Drew Brees and company should be able to move the ball against a defense that could be on the field a lot in the second half. Our pick in this one is the over. The over is 4-0 in Cleveland’s last four games after its accumulated less than 90 yards rushing in its previous outing. It’s also 4-1 in the Saints’ last five games following a straight up win and 4-1 in their last five games after allowing less than 15 points in their previous contest.

Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Miami Dolphins, 1:00PM ET

The general consensus might be to take the under in this game with how well both of these defenses have played this year, but now that Big Ben is back for the Steelers, they’re going to score. The over is 4-1-1 in the Steelers’ last six games as a favorite and 3-0-1 in Miami’s last four home games. It’s also 4-0 in the Dolphins’ last six games in Week 7 and 4-1-1 in their last six games versus the AFC. Our pick is the over in this pivotal contest of potential AFC playoff contenders.

New England Patriots vs. San Diego Chargers, 4:15PM ET

There’s no question that the Chargers have been dismal at times this year, but they’ve looked like a completely different team at home. Granted, those wins were over the Cardinals and Jaguars, but they were impressive nonetheless. The Bolts are 6-1 against the number in their last seven games following an ATS loss, while the Patriots are 1-4 ATS versus a team with a losing record. They’re also 0-4-1 ATS in their last five games after allowing more than 250 yards passing in their previous outing. Our pick is San Diego minus the points. It’s never easy for an East Coast team to travel cross-country and play on the road – especially against a good home team like the Chargers. We think San Diego figures things out this weekend and gets a big win over a playoff contender in New England.

NFL Week 7 Free Pick: SAN DIEGO -3 SBGGLOBAL.com

Minnesota Vikings vs. Green Bay Packers, 8:20PM ET

One team appears to be ready to make a run, one the other is spiraling downward due to injuries. The Vikings are starting to figure things out offensively, which is a problem for the rest of the NFC North. Randy Moss has dramatically upgraded their passing game and although he keeps turning the ball over, Brett Favre is starting to get into a rhythm with his receivers. The Packers, on the other hand, are one Aaron Rodgers injury away from a losing season. They’ve already lost Nick Barnett, Ryan Grant and possibly even Jermichael Finley for the season, and now Donald Driver is battling an injury as well. They just don’t have the firepower they did coming into the season when they were legit Super Bowl contenders. Our pick is the Vikings, who are 8-2 against the spread in their last 10 meetings with the Packers in Green Bay. The road team is also 12-4 ATS in the last 16 meetings between these two teams, while the underdog is 17-5 ATS in the last 22 games. We like Minnesota to win outright.
