2010 NFL Week 9 Picks & Predictions

In our top four picks for Week 9 in the NFL, a couple of road teams have caught our attention, as well as an over/under that we believe could fall way under the total. Continuing reading for our 2010 NFL Week 9 Picks & Predictions.

San Diego Chargers vs. Houston Texans, 1:00PM ET
San Diego has been a disaster on the road this season, but that ends in Houston. The Texans are coming off a short week and for whatever reason, have failed to play well at home this year. The Texans are just 1-4 against the number in their last five games overall, while the Chargers are 4-0 ATS in their last four games in November. San Diego is ready to make its annual climb to the top of the standings and seeing as how it doesn’t have to worry about Andre Johnson (ankle), the Bolts should win and cover.

Tampa Bay Bucs vs. Atlanta Falcons, 1:00PM ET
Both of these teams will want to flex their muscles by keeping the ball on the ground and trying to win the battle in the trenches. That’s why we think it’ll be a lower scoring game than people think, even though the Falcons have put on some points at home this year. The under is 4-0 in the last four meetings between these two teams and seeing as how we should get a steady diet of Michael Turner and LeGarrette Blount this week, the total should fall under again this year. Our free pick for this game is the under, although a small play on the Bucs would also be wise. Tampa is 5-1 against the spread in its last six meetings with the Falcons, and 8-2 ATS in its last 10 meetings in Atlanta.

Kansas City Chiefs vs. Oakland Raiders, 4:15PM ET
The Raiders have scored over 90 points in the last two weeks and you get the sense that bettors are starting to believe. Call us skeptical, but we don’t think Oakland can keep this up. The Raiders can’t possibly keep this offensive display going and we think their win streak stops at two games. The Chiefs are 7-0 against the spread in their last seven trips to Oakland and the road team is 19-6-1 ATS in the last 26 meetings between these two teams. The underdog is also 6-0 ATS in the last six meetings and the Chiefs are 4-1 ATS in their last four road games. Our pick is Kansas City, which wins outright.

Dallas Cowboys vs. Green Bay Packers, 8:20PM ET
The Cowboys are a horrendous football team. They can’t block, they can’t tackle they can’t execute, and they’re poorly coached. The Packers are the most banged up football team in the league this year but they can handle a bad Dallas team in their own backyard. As long as the Packers block DeMarcus Ware and give Aaron Rodgers enough time to find open receivers, Green Bay should win handily. The home team is 8-1 ATS in the last nine meetings between these two teams and the favorite is 7-2 ATS. Our pick is the Packers minus the points.
