Trends also show that the Aztecs are just 4-7 against the spread in their last 11 games as a favorite and have went under in 16 of their last 23 games when the spread is +3 to -3.
Navy is 9-3 on the year and 7-5 against the point spread odds. The Midshipmen have hit the over in 6 of 11 lined games this season. Navy is 6-1 against the spread in games as a road underdog of 3 points ore less and they have hit the under in 4 of their last 5 December games. In terms of a team pick, I like Navy in this game +3, but my focus is really on the point total.
What makes a pick of Navy or San Diego State tough is the weather. San Diego got hit with some heavy rains and the stadium had inches of standing water just last night. While the field will be playable, it will be sloppy and that favors a running game, which favors a pick of Navy.
However, I would expect both teams to struggle with footing in this game, which should set up a low scoring contest. With the over/under total set at 57.5 points, I have a hard time expecting both teams combining for that given the wet conditions.
