(The Spread) – The point spreads are out for Week 7 in the NFL, including the line for a big NFC matchup in Detroit.
With their 31-17 victory over the Panthers in Week 6, the Atlanta Falcons are back to .500 and will look to put together back-to-back wins for the first time this season. That won’t be an easy task this Sunday, however, as they travel to Detroit to take on a Lions team that was upset last weekend by the upstart 49ers. In fact, oddsmakers have installed the Lions as 4-point home favorites for this Sunday’s game.
Staying in the NFC, Josh Freeman and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will host the Chicago Bears at 1:00PM ET after soundly beating divisional rival New Orleans last Sunday. Freeman threw for over 300 yards in the win, but will have his work cut out for him on Sunday against a Chicago defense that shut down Minnesota in Week 6. Oddsmakers currently list Tampa Bay as a 1-point favorite.
The Sunday night football game figures to be a blowout as Drew Brees and the Saints return home to host the Indianapolis Colts at 8:20PM ET. While Brees threw three interceptions in an ugly loss to the Bucs in Week 6, the Colts are winless on the year as Peyton Manning stands helpless on the sidelines. New Orleans is currently listed as a 14-point home favorite over Indianapolis on Sunday night.
The Monday Night Football matchup this week isn’t much better, as the 1-5 Jacksonville Jaguars host the red-hot Baltimore Ravens at 8:30PM ET. Since losing to the Titans in Week 2, the Ravens have rattled off three-straight double-digit wins. They find themselves as 9-point road favorites against a Jacksonville team that nearly came back to beat the Steelers in Week 6 before falling 17-13.
