NFL FREE PICK: Take the under. How much do the Patriots care about preseason? Not a lot. They know what they have on offense and on defense, they've improved with the additions of rookie LB Dont'a Hightower and DE Chandler Jones. The Eagles are expected to play their starters into the third quarter as they using this game as a "dress rehearsal". Tom Brady may not go for the Patriots as they play three games in a 10-day stretch. Several key offensive players have missed practice for the Pats this week including WR Wes Welker. With some injuries on the offensive line going up against a very tough Philly pass rush, it would make no sense to play Brady beyond a series or two. The Pats will likely rely on backups Brian Hoyer and Ryan Mallett to get the job done. But defensively, they'll probably go longer as to not put their backups in against Michael Vick and company. There should be some scoring early but it will slow down to a halt in the second half.
