2013 Capital One Bowl Nebraska vs. Georgia Picks & Predictions
By Anthony Rome

ORLANDO, FL (The Spread) – In one of the more intriguing bowl games of the bowl season, Nebraska will battle Georgia in the Capital One Bowl at 1:00PM ET. Will Georgia cover?

ODDS: Oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv have installed the Bulldogs as 9-point favorites over the Cornhuskers, while the over/under total is currently sitting at 60 points. Nebraska finished with a 10-3 record and went 7-1 in the Big Ten, while Georgia went 11-2 overall and 7-1 in the SEC.

LINE MOVEMENT: The Bulldogs opened as an 8.5-point favorite but the spread has been bet up to 9 at most Vegas books. In fact, some books have even pumped the line as high as 9.5. As for the total, it has gone from 57 all the way up to 60 points.

PUBLIC BETTING:
Current college football public betting information says that 74% of public bettors are currently backing Georgia. This information is subjected to change leading up to kickoff, however, so make sure you click on the link provided for more detailed information.

COLLEGE FOOTBALL BOWL PICK: Take Nebraska. According to latest college football trends, the Cornhuskers are 3-1-1 against the spread versus a team with a winning record and 6-2 ATS in their last eight games after allowing more than 40 points in their previous contest. Nebraska is also 3-1-2 ATS in its last six games after allowing more than 200 yards rushing in its previous contest and 3-1-1 ATS in its last five games following a straight up loss of more than 20 points. As for the Bulldogs, they’re 1-4 against the spread in their last five non-conference games and 1-4 ATS in their last five games following a straight up loss. Everyone remembers the Huskers’ embarrassing 70-31 loss to Wisconsin in the Big Ten Championship Game, which is why this point spread is at least a point or two higher than it should be. But Nebraska’s defense leads the nation in passing yards allowed and features the nation’s eighth-best rushing attack thanks to running back Ameer Abdullah and dual-threat quarterback Taylor Martinez. Look for the Huskers to play much better and more focused versus a Georgia team that is likely disappointed to play in the Capital One Bowl after being passed over for a BCS matchup.
