2013 Compass Bowl Ole Miss vs. Pittsburgh Picks & Predictions
By ATSSportsline.com

BIRMINGHAM, AL (ATS Consultants) - Will Ole Miss cover the small spread when it takes on PITT in the 2013 Compass Bowl at 1:00PM ET today?

GAME INFO: Hey, we have an actual non-BCS bowl where both coaches stayed put! Pittsburgh (6-6 SU, 7-4-1 ATS, 4-6 O/U) has won two straight to become bowl eligible. QB Tino Sunseri has not thrown an interception since Sept. 15 against Virginia Tech. Ole Miss (6-6 SU, 9-3 ATS, 5-6 O/U) won the Conerly Trophy as the state of Mississippi's best player. Ole Miss travels to Birmingham, Ala. to take on Pittsburgh from Legion Field for the Compass Bowl on Saturday at 1pmET.

ODDS: According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Ole Miss is currently a 3-point favorite versus Pittsburgh, while the over/under total is sitting at 53.5 points. Both teams enter this game with 6-6 overall records.

LINE MOVEMENT: Ole Miss opened as a 3-point favorite and moved to -3.5 at most books. The total started at 52 and moved to 53.5 in most books.

COLLEGE FOOTBALL BOWL PICK: Take Ole Miss. According to latest college football trends, Mississippi is 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a ATS win, 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games on fieldturf, 14-4 ATS in their last 18 non-conference games, 7-2 ATS in their last 9 games overall, 14-5 ATS in their last 19 games after scoring more than 40 points in their previous game and 10-4 ATS in their last 14 games after allowing more than 280 yards passing in their previous game.

Pittsburgh will be playing in Birmingham for the third straight year, but for the first time with the same man who coached the team during the regular season (Paul Chryst). Dave Wannstedt was fired prior to the team's 27-10 win over Kentucky after the 2010 season before Todd Graham missed last season's 28-6 defeat against SMU to take over at Arizona State. Mississippi will be making its first bowl appearance since the 2009 season under first-year coach Hugh Freeze. He led the Rebels back to .500 after a dismal 2-10 record last season under Houston Nutt. Ole Miss runs a version of the spread led by quarterback Bo Wallace, who paced the Rebels with eight rushing scores. He leads a ground game that has scored 23 touchdowns and averaged 169.7 yards this season. Wallace threw for 294 yards and five touchdowns in the team's last game - a 41-24 victory over Mississippi State. The Rebels will look to slow down Pittsburgh RB Ray Graham. The Rebels allow an average of 133.3 rushing yards but they yielded only 30 yards on 25 carries in their Egg Bowl win over Mississippi State. Jeff Scott has rushed for a career-high 828 yards while reaching the end zone seven times. He carried the load against the Bulldogs, rushing 28 times for 111 yards. Ole Miss will have a balanced attack, but expect them to be more successful on the ground against a Pitt defense that yields around 198ypg in the air.

2013 COMPASS BOWL: OLE MISS REBELS -3
