DALLAS, TX (The Spread) – The Big Ten will square off against the Big 12 when Purdue takes on Oklahoma State in the 2013 Heart of Dallas Bowl at 12:00PM ET. Can the Boilermakers cover the huge spread?

The Boilermakers enter the game with a 6-6 overall record while the Cowboys are 7-5.
LINE MOVEMENT: The Cowboys opened as a 17.5-point favorite but bettors have bet the spread down to the key number of 17. As for the total, it’s gone from 69 and has been bet up to 70 points at most sports books.

According to latest college football trends, the Boilermakers are 4-1 against the spread in their last five non-conference games and 7-2-1 ATS in their last 10 games following a straight up win of more than 20 points. As for the Cowboys, they’re 2-6 against the number in their last eight games after accumulating more than 200 yards rushing in their previous contest. Oklahoma State doesn’t have to travel far and everyone is aware of the Cowboys’ explosive offense. But Purdue finished the regular season on a three-game winning streak and over that time, quarterback Robert Marve threw for seven touchdowns and just one interception. He’s the key because he missed three games and was limited to just 17 pass attempts in two others. With him and the Purdue offense building a little momentum heading into the bowl season, look for the Boilermakers to keep the game surprisingly close against an OK State team that is likely to overlook its Big Ten opponent today.
