2013 NFL Preseason Week 2 Chargers vs. Bears Picks & Predictions
By ATSSportsline.com

CHICAGO, IL (ATS Consultants) – Week 2 of the NFL preseason kicks off tonight with four games, including a matchup between the Chargers and Bears at 8:00PM ET. Will San Diego cover the spread?

NFL ODDS: According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Bears are 6-point home favorites versus the Chargers, while the over/under total is currently sitting at 37 points. San Diego and Chicago both lost their respective Week 1 matchups.

NFL LINEMOVEMENT: The Chargers opened as 5-point road underdogs but the spread has jumped to Bears -6 at most online sports books. As for the total, it opened at 38.5 at most online books but has dropped to 37.

NFL PUBLIC BETTING: Of the bets that have been placed on this game, 58% currently favor San Diego. This information is subject to change, however, so make sure to click on the link for the latest public betting figures.

NFL FREE PICK: Take San Diego. Chicago makes their home debut under new coach Marc Trestman. It will take some time for Jay Cutler to master this offense, as Trestman is an offensive guru who led Montreal in the CFL. Last week, there were some bright spots although not on the defensive side when they allowed Cam Newton to lead Carolina right down the field for a touchdown pass on the second possession.

The Bears' first offensive play was an interception by Cutler. Some things never change.

The Bears will look to get Matt Forte more involved in the offense as they don't want to show all their new wrinkles in the preseason. New coaches want to show some mystery before they enter the first "real" game.

San Diego struggled defensively as well but that was against three solid quarterbacks. Seattle has three players who have started games in Russell Wilson, Tarvaris Jackson and Brady Quinn. Jackson tossed two touchdown passes to lead the Seahawks over the Chargers, 31-10.

San Diego also has a new coach Mike McCoy, who had a pretty good effort from Philip Rivers, who went 5-for-6 on one series. Expect Rivers to play at least two series as he needs to get acclimated to some of the younger receivers including rookie Keenan Allen.

While the Chargers have their issues, expect the Bears to be very vanilla in their game plan.
