2013 NFL Wild Card Playoffs Seahawks vs. Redskins Picks & Predictions
By ATSSportsline.com

WASHINGTON, D.C. (ATS Consultants) –
Will the Seattle Seahawks and Washington Redskins light up the scoreboard at FedEx Field today when the two teams clash in the NFL playoffs?

GAME INFO: Last game: (11/27/11): Washington (+3) over SEATTLE, 23-17. This is just the second matchup of rookie quarterbacks in the history of the NFL. Last year, Andy Dalton (Cincinnati) met T.J. Yates (Houston). Yates only played because Matt Schaub was injured. Both quarterbacks went coast-to-coast this year. Even with rookie quarterbacks, Seattle (11-5 SU, 11-5 ATS, 8-8 O/U) won five straight games, while Washington (10-6 SU, 11-5 ATS, 9-7 O/U) has won seven straight. Seattle defeated St.Louis at home last week giving 11, but needed a San Francisco loss to win the division. So Seattle ended up as a wild card and will travel to Landover, Md., to take on Washington, who clinched the NFC East with a 28-18 home win. The kickoff starts at 4:30pmET on Sunday.

NFL Odds: According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Seahawks are 3-point favorites versus the Redskins, while the over/under total is currently sitting at 46.5 points. Seattle enters the game after finishing with an 11-5 record, while Washington went 10-6.

Line Movement: The Redskins opened as a 1-point underdog but the line was bet up to 3 and has stayed there all week. As for the total, it went from 45 points to 46.5 at most sports books.

Public Betting: Of the wagers currently placed on this game, 52% of NFL public bettors currently favor the Seahawks. This information is subject to change leading up to kickoff, however, so make sure you click on the link provided for the most up-to-date NFL public betting numbers.

NFL Playoff Free Pick: Take the over. According to latest NFL trends, Seattle is 4-0 Over last 4 road games, 5-0 Over last 5 playoff games, 5-1 Over last 6 games overall, 4-1 Over last 5 playoff road games, 6-2 Over last 8 games in January and 11-4 Over last 15 games after allowing more than 250 yards passing in their previous game. Washington 4-0 Over last 4 meetings in this series in Washington.

The Redskins closed the season with seven consecutive wins to claim the NFC East title and secure their first playoff berth since 2007. Robert Griffin III threw for 3,200 yards and rushed for 815 yards with seven scores. Washington ran a Pistol Offense to suit Griffin’s needs. They were also helped by another rookie in RB Alfred Morris, who finished second in the NFL with 1,613 yards. He rushed for 200 yards and three scores in their division-clinching win over Dallas. Washington’s defense improved later in the season, but still finished 29th overall in total yards allowed per game (391). Washington's defense is vulnerable against the pass (281.9 yards), ranking 30th in the league. While teams have had trouble stopping RGIII, the same can be said about unheralded third-round selection Russell Wilson. Wilson threw more touchdown passes (26 to 20) than his counterpart. One stat which illustrates the success of both players: Griffin and Wilson finished third and fourth in passer rating at 102.4 and 100.0, respectively. Before scoring just 20 against the Rams, the Seahawks annihilated San Francisco, Buffalo and Arizona by a combined 150-30, becoming the first team in 62 years to amass that many points in a three-game stretch. Wilson threw 16 touchdown passes and only two interceptions over the final eight games and running back Marshawn Lynch churned out ten 100-yard games - including four straight to close the season - to finish third in the league with 1,590 yards.
