AMES, IA (The Spread) - No. 20 Kansas State looks to avoid a letdown today when it faces Iowa State at 12:00PM ET at Jack Trice Stadium.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Kansas State is a 12-point favorite over Iowa State, while the over/under total is currently sitting at 54.5 points. The Wildcats opened as 15.5-point favorites before the line was bet down, while the total opened at 58 and has fallen greatly.
Kansas State routed FCS I-AA opponent Stephen F. Austin 55-16 last week, but failed to cover as a 41.5-point home favorite. The combined score barely went over the total of 70.5 as quarterback Jake Waters threw two touchdown passes and ran for two more in the victory. Charles Jones also rushed for 55 yards and a pair of touchdowns for the Wildcats.
Iowa State was embarrassed in its home opener, losing 34-14 to FCS I-AA North Dakota State as a 6-point favorite. John Crockett rushed for 138 yards and three touchdowns in the victory, while Sam Richardson completed 20-of-31 passes for just 151 yards and two interceptions in the loss.
