BATON ROUGE, LA (The Spread) - No. 8 LSU will receive its first SEC test tonight when it hosts unranked Mississippi State at 7:00PM ET.
Mississippi State improved to 3-0 on the season with a 35-3 win over South Alabama in its first road game of the year. Quarterback Dak Prescott was outstanding, as he threw for 201 yards on 13-of-21 passing with one touchdown and no interceptions. He also led the Bulldogs in rushing, reeling off 139 yards on 14 carries and an addition score on the ground.
Following their 28-24 come-from-behind victory over Wisconsin in Week 1, LSU has reeled off consecutive shutouts versus Sam Houston and UL Monroe. The Tigers' running game combined for 182 yards and all four of the team's touchdowns in their 31-0 victory over the Warhawks. Tonight will be the third game of four-straight home contests for LSU at the start of the season.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, LSU is a 10-point favorite over Mississippi State while the over/under total is currently sitting at 47.5 points. The Tigers opened as 7-point favorites but the line has jumped up, while the total opened at 50.5 and has been bet down.
