2014 College Football Week 1 Florida State vs. Oklahoma State Free Pick
By ATSSportsline.com

ARLINGTON, TX (ATS Consultants) – No. 1 Florida State will begin its title defense tonight in Texas when it battles non-conference foe Oklahoma State at 8:00PM ET.

The Seminoles return one of the nation’s best offenses under offensive coordinators Randy Sanders and Lawrence Dawsey. The unit is led by 2013 Heisman Trophy winner Jameis Winston, will have the luxury of playing behind an offensive line that returns four starts from a year ago. He’ll also benefit from having skill position players like running back karlos Williams and receiver Rashad Greene at his disposal.

Defensively, FSU boasts one of the deepest and most talented defensive backfields in the nation, even after losing All-American Lamarcus Joyner to the NFL. The unit is led by corner backs Jalen Ramsey, P.J. Williams and Ronald Darby, and will benefit from having a pass-rusher such as Mario Edwards Jr. providing a consistent rush.

Meanwhile, Oklahoma State will ride quarterback J.W. Walsh, who has eight career starts under his belt the past two seasons. He’s also a dual-threat, capable of providing the offense with some versatility when things start to break down, which could happen often given inexperienced the offensive line is. The receiving corps is also thin, while the defense returns only four players with significant starting experience.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, Florida State is an 19-point favorite over Oklahoma State, while the over/under total is currently sitting at 64.5 points. The line movement for this game hasn’t been significant, although the Seminoles did open at -17.5 and the total was listed at 63.5 at some books.
