2014 College Football Week 3 UCLA vs. Texas Picks & Predictions

ARLINGTON, TX (The Spread) – It hasn’t been smooth sailing over the first two weeks of the season for No. 12 UCLA, which visits unranked Texas tonight at 8:00PM ET.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, UCLA is a 7.5-point road favorite over Texas while the total is currently sitting at 50.5 points. The Bruins opened as 6-point favorites before the line was bet up, while the total opened at 54 before being bet down.

The Bruins beat Memphis 42-35 last Saturday night but failed to cover as a 22-point home favorites. The combined score sailed over the posted total of 56 points as quarterback and Heisman Trophy candidate Brett Hundley completed 33-of-44 passes for 396 yards with three touchdowns and one interception. Paul Perkins also rushed for 98 yards and two touchdowns on 23 carries in the win.

The Longhorns were embarrassed last week in a 41-7 loss at home as a 1-point favorite versus BYU. The combined score went just over the posted total of 47.5 points as Tyrone Swoops threw for just 176 yards with one touchdown and one interception in the loss. Texas was held to just 82 yards on 35 carries as a team and turned the ball over four times, which included three fumbles.

NCAA FREE PICK: Take UCLA. According to latest college football trends, the Bruins are 7-3 against the spread in their last 10 non-conference games, 6-2 ATS in their last eight games in September and 9-4 ATS in their last 13 games following a loss.
