ENVER, CO (The Spread) – Will tonight’s AFC West battle between the Chargers and Broncos be a high-scoring affair? Kickoff is set for 8:25PM ET.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Broncos are 9.5-point favorites over the Chargers while the over/under total is currently sitting at 51 points. What’s interesting about the line is that Denver opened as a 6.5-point favorite and the number has climbed past the key number of 7 and is closing in on the key number of 10.
The line movement for this game becomes even more intriguing when you consider that the Chargers hung with the Broncos in San Diego last year (before falling, 28-20), and beat Peyton Manning in Week 15 in Denver by a 27-20 score. For whatever reason, San Diego’s defense has had plenty of success against Manning in the past yet the line continues to climb.
On the season, the Chargers are 5-2 straight up and a very profitable 5-2 against the spread, while the Broncos are 5-1 but just 3-3 at the betting window. While the under is 4-3 in San Diego’s seven games this season, the over is 4-2 in Denver’s six contests in 2014.

Manning and Philip Rivers should put up plenty of points tonight in Denver.
