2014 NFL Preseason Jaguars vs. Bears Week 2 Picks & Predictions
By ATSSportsline.com

CHICAGO, IL (The Spread) –
The Bears and Jaguars kick off Week 2 of the NFL preseason tonight at 8:00PM ET. Will the Bears play another high-scoring game?

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Bears are 3-point favorites over the Jaguars for tonight’s game, while the over/under is currently sitting at 42.5 points. Both of these teams won their preseason openers, as Jacksonville beat Tampa Bay 16–10 as a 2.5-point favorite and Chicago topped Philadelphia 34-28 as a 1-point underdog.

Jay Cutler completed 9-of-13 passes for 85 yards and a touchdown in the Bears’ preseason opener. He also didn’t take a sack and didn’t commit a turnover, which have been issues for the veteran over the course of his career. He also had a 40-yard completion to Alshon Jeffery erased by a penalty and showcased his strong arm when he tight end Zach Miller in the back of the end zone.

The highlight to come out of the Jaguars’ exhibition opener was the play of rookie signal-caller Blake Bortles, who completed 7-of-11 passes for 117 yards against the Bucs. Mike Brown dropped two passes downfield or else Bortles’ numbers would have looked even better. The team wants Chad Henne to start every game this year so that Bortles can learn in his first year but things could change quickly if the rookie continues to shine.

NFL Preseason Free Pick: Take the over. A week ago Chicago and Philadelphia combined for 62 points with the total sitting at 41.5. While oddsmakers have adjusted slightly by raising tonight’s total to 42.5, we still think the total is too low. The Bears will continue to generate points and the Jags should contribute in garbage time.
