2014 NFL Week 1 Preseason Texans vs. Cardinals Picks & Predictions
By ATSSportsline.com
GLENDALE, AZ (The Spread) - Preseason football continues tonight when the Cardinals host the new-look Texans at 8:30PM ET.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Cardinals are 2-point favorites over the Texans, while the over/under total is currently sitting at 37.5 points.
The Texans completely revamped their roster in the offseason, starting with the coaching staff. They fired Gary Kubiak, Rick Dennison and Wade Phillips, and replaced them with new head coach Bill O'Brien and defensive coordinator Romeo Crennel. The team also has a new quarterback in Ryan Fitzpatrick after trading Matt Schaub to the Raiders.
The Cardinals didn't make many changes in the offseason, although not that they had to. They won 10 games a year ago in Bruce Arians' first year but just missed the playoffs in a crowded NFC. They signed Jared Veldheer to upgrade their offensive line and added Antonio Cromartie to their cornerback corps.
NFL Preseason Free Pick: Take Houston +2. Even though head coaches don't put much stock in preseason wins and losses, it'll be important for O'Brien and his staff to get the season started on the right foot.
