2014 NFL Week 3 Free Pick: Cowboys vs. Rams Predictions
By Anthony Rome

ST. LOUIS, MO (The Spread) - Two teams that pulled off road upsets will battle today when the Rams host the Cowboys at 1:00PM ET.

DALLAS: The Cowboys bounced back following a Week 1 loss with a 26-10 victory over the Titans in Week 2. They covered as a 3-point road underdog while the combined score fell well under the posted total of 49.5 points. Running back Demarco Murray stole the show with a 167-yard, one-touchdown performance on 29 carries. Tony Romo only threw for 176 yards and a touchdown, but also didn’t throw an interception and Dez Bryant caught 10-of-14 targets for 103 yards and a touchdown. The Cowboys improved to 1-1 straight up with the win and are now 1-1 against the spread.

ST. LOUIS: Behind third-string quarterback Austin Davis the Rams improved to 1-1 on the year when they upset the Bucs 19-17 last week as a 4-point road underdog. Davis didn’t throw any touchdown passes but was efficient, throwing for 235 yards on 22-of-29 passes and also didn’t turn the ball over in the win. The throw of his career came on a 3rd-and-9 with the Rams trying to push into field goal range to take a lead. In the face of immense pressure from Da’Quan Bowers, Austin lofted a picture-perfect pass down the seam to Austin Pettis, who secured the grab while taking a hit from safety Dashon Goldson. The Rams went on to kick what would be the game-winning field goal and are now 1-1 against the spread.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Cowboys are 1-point road favorites over the Rams while the over/under total is currently sitting at 44 points. This game opened as a pick'em before the line moved in favor of Dallas, while the total opened at 45 and has been bet down.

NFL FREE PICK: Take St. Louis.
