EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ (The Spread) – The Broncos are a double-digit favorite versus the hapless Jets today at 1:00PM ET. Will Denver avoid a letdown?
ODDS: According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Broncos are 10-point favorites over the Jets while the over/under total is currently sitting at 47.5 points. Of this writing, over 80% of the betting public currently favors Denver despite the high spread.
LINE MOVEMENT: The Broncos opened as 4.5-point favorites before the line for this game shot all the way up to 9.5 or 10 depending on which sports book you view. As for the total, it opened at 46 before being bet up to 47.5 at most sports books.
SEASON RECORDS: The Broncos are 3-1 on the year but just 1-3 against the spread, while the Jets are 1-4 straight up and a brutal 0-4-1 at the betting window this season. While the under is 3-2 in New York’s five games this season, Denver’s over/under record is currently 2-2.
NFL FREE PICK: Take New York. According to latest NFL trends, the underdog is 5-2 against the spread in the last seven games between these two teams while the Jets are 6-2 against the spread in their last eight games after scoring less than 15 points in their previous contest. On the other side, the Broncos are just 1-4 against the spread in their last five games overall, 1-4 ATS in their last five games following an ATS win and 5-11 ATS in their last 16 games in October. This is a classic letdown spot for a Denver team that will be hard pressed not to look back a New York squad with major off field and on field issues. Even with the controversy surrounding Geno Smith and the Jets’ quarterback position, take the home dog and the double digits.
