OAKLAND, CA (The Spread) – Will the Raiders finally pick up their first win or at least cover the spread today when they host the Chargers at 4:05PM ET?
ODDS: According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Chargers are 7-point home favorites over the Raiders while the over/under total is currently sitting at 43 points. As of this writing, just under 80% of public bettors favor San Diego minus the points.
LINE MOVEMENT: The Chargers opened as 6.5-point favorites but the line for this game has been bet up to the key number at 7. The total, meanwhile, opened at 45 and has been bet down to 43 at most online and Vegas sports books.
SEASON RECORDS: The Chargers enter play with a 4-1 record and have covered the spread in all five of their games in 2014. On the other side, the Raiders are 0-4 but have covered the spread in half of those games, while the under is 3-2 in San Diego’s first five games.
NFL FREE PICK: Take Oakland. According to latest NFL trends, the underdog is 9-1 against the spread in the last 10 meetings between these two teams while the Chargers are just 3-7 against the spread in their last 10 games versus the Raiders. Oakland is also 4-1 against the number in its last five games in Week 6, 4-1 ATS in its last five games following a double-digit loss at home and 8-3 ATS in its last 11 games following a loss. On the other side, San Diego is 1-6 against the number in its last seven games following a bye week and 1-4 ATS in its last five games after allowing less than 250 total yards in its previous game.
