Bahamas Bowl Middle Tennessee vs. Western Michigan Picks & Predictions
By Anthony Rome
P.J. Fleck and Western Michigan will look to notch its first bowl win in program history when the Broncos take on Middle Tennessee at 12:00PM ET today.
Oddsmakers from online sports book Mybookie.ag currently list the Broncos as a 4.5-point favorite over the Blue Raiders for today's Bahamas Bowl. Western Michigan had opened as a 3.5-point favorite but the line has jumped a full point. As for the total, it opened at 62.5 but has climbed to 65.
Even though the Blue Raiders held their last two opponents to a combined 14 points, it's unlikely that Middle Tennessee will have that much success containing Western Michigan today. The Broncos featured a dynamic receiving duo in Daniel Braverman and Corey Davis, as well as a quarterback in Zach Terrell who threw for 3,225 yards and 27 touchdowns to just eight interceptions this season.
Middle Tennessee is 18th in passing yards per game (309.4) but is 90th in rushing yards per contest (154.6). The Blue Raiders just don't have the offensive balance of the Broncos, who are 26th in passing yards per game (283.4) and 33rd in rushing (197.2). This game is likely to go back and forth for a while, but WMU should eventually pull away.
